Summary:
The only problem I encounter is that there are too many people who don't know what they're doing. Great for riders who need to practice dropping off rocks. Don't get to confident though, some parts can get kind of tricky. You don't want to lose concentration when you're surrounded by cactus

Summary:
Stopped off to ride this one on the way to Texas. Great group of trails, easy to get lost. I rode everything the wrong way and ended up on a very difficult loose rock hill, but it was fun anyway. Thanks to Jerry Quesnel for giving me info on this trail. These trails are definitely the type that will be much better the second time around, for me at least. Lots of interesting cacti to view!

Summary:
The Map has most of the trails on it. Moderately challenging with a bit of everthing for everyone. Enough technical bits and rocky climbing to make the drive across town worth it. A few sweet "freeride" sections are there as well. A nice place for locals to develop and as an introduction to Tucson MTBing.

Recommended Route:
Yetman via Camino D'oeste to CatMnt, left up and over the the steep to the west and on to Gates Pass, up and down Unrideable and back the way I came taking in John Klein if I'm feeling froggy.

Summary:
The downhill part of John Krein trail is friggin sweeeeeet; to be honest I don't know of ANY mtb trail in Tucson that I like as much as this one!! Not even Green Mtn. Once you get to the top of John Krein, you kinda have to look for a trail that takes you straight back towards star pass trail. (It's on the opposite side of the mountain you just rode/walked up.) This trail has so many fun, challenging obstacles - little drops etc. - it is my absolute favorite. Although it is a relatively short trail, it is definitely not a trail for beginners. Someone recently cleaned it up and made it a lot better!! Y'all should try it.

Recommended Route:
John Krein trail to the top and take it downhill towards star pass trail

Other recommended trails in the same area:
"unridedable" and down Golden Gate towards old tucson

Hey,enough with the Starr Pass and Fantasy Island reviews, I think we get the idea! I'd like to see more reviews posted on other trails such as, Aspen Draw, Crystal Springs, Red Ridge (great intro there from my friend Dave but not one review what's up with that!), Green Mountain and others. Don't you Tucsonians ride anywhere else! Go out, explore, RIDE, post the reviews and the MT gods will reward you with some nice scabs.

Recommended Route:
NA

Other recommended trails in the same area:
Golden Gate, try it! It's ALL RIDABLE, ask Dave.
