Ridden Trail: Once a year

, from Flagstaff, AZ Summary: Joe is right in a couple of respects, I am a shameless self promotor, but what the hell, sue me. The other item that Joe is correct about is that some prior knowledge of Sedona trails is required for this one or ride with a local so you can see how the trails link up. Or just buy my book. (sorry Joe) Recommended Route: Sorry Joe, do not poach Marg's Draw. I am shameless to suggest this. No, much better to ride Hwy 179 thru Sedona and be killed by some schmuck in a huge rv with 3 foot mirrors.

, from Flagstaff Summary: Shame on you Ray for promoting the poaching of wilderness areas (Marg's Draw). However, I'm not surprised because of the even more shameless self-promotion of your dorky guide book on some of the other Flagstaff-Sedona trail posts. Recommended Route: counterclockwise as suggested by Cosmic Ray is best. It is better to go down Carrol Canyon or Stutz-Bearcat. Also, as mentioned by other poster knowledge of connector trails vital to keeping the ride under 4 hrs.

Ridden Trail: Once a month

, from Sedona Summary: I have a couple buddies who added Hot Loop/House Mountain to this in one day and it totaled more than 50. Murder, flat out murder. The good thing is you get to swim twice. Don't even try if it's over 80 degrees. You can knock this out in 4 hours if you're flying. Find the connector trails before you try this beast, or you'll be out for 5-6 hours. If you make it up Carroll canyon without more than a dab or two then you are Hans freakin' Ray. You will see Jesus at least once (not a drifter from Sedona either). If you taco a rim, or wreck bad, you're never more than a couple of miles from civilization. Good place to almost die. Adios! Recommended Route: Park your rig at Broken Arrow - Off to Chicken Point - Down Little Horse - Bell Rock Pathway - To Cathedral Rock Trail - Down to Buddha - Over to Verde School Rd -Down to RR Crossing - UP Carrol Canyon - Across 89A to Chimney Rock - Thunder Mtn - Teacup - Soldier Pass - Secret trails - Jimmy T - Oak Creek - UP Huckaby - Forget the Wilderness Poach, and roadie it back to Broken Arrow. Other recommended trails in the same area: Top O' Mingus

, from flagstaff Summary: Must agree with Ray on this ride; it's a fine way to hook into at least a small part of a majority of Sedona's best rides. Bring two water bottles and a big sandwich. Recommended Route: Follow Ray's directions, but skip the Marg's Draw wilderness poach and go to Circle K on 179 just south of Schnebly Hill Rd for much needed snacks instead.
