Ridden Trail: Every few months

, from Flagstaff Summary: Great way to get in some climbing and see a different side of South Mountain. I used to ride this every couple of weeks before moving to Flagstaff. Ridgeline itself is steep up, steep down, and loose everywhere, but all good fun. Not for true beginners. If I close my eyes I can still see one of my old Supergo co-workers going OTB and snacking on some rocks....by the way, you owe me a beer, and you know who you are!! Someone please let me know if the Devil of South Mountain still prowls the trails. Some day, if you're very quiet, you may get a glimpse of him. Don't try to keep up with him though, he'll only make you look like a rookie.
Recommended Route: Park at ramadas, take loop 1 to javalina, up javalina, left on ridgeline, back on beverly canyon to either loop 2 or fire road and back to parking lot. Other recommended trails in the same area: Try linking up some of the unknown stuff...

, from flagstaff, az Summary: I liked it a bunch, although I had to walk some in the beginning. The views are spectacular and the furious fast descent at the end is worth the effort. Recommended Route: Just like the description. Other recommended trails in the same area: ALMOST anything at SoMo.
