Killer railing along steep mountainside, fast ripping turns through forest...down, down, down...
Fr Flagstaff take Hi 180 to Schultz Pass Rd.
Keep right to follow Elden Lookout Rd (557) 7 mi to Sunset trailhead. Bomb down Sunset 1.5 mi then right turn on to Little Bear (posted)...
Summary: this trail was a huge waste of time .You have to keep stopping to hike your bike over the fallen trees.Skip this trail and carry on to
Upper brookbank or little knarly.
Recommended Route: Don't do it...
Other recommended trails in the same area: stick with the trails that head back to eldon lookout rd

Summary: Like the other reviewers, I'd say this is a intermediate/advanced trail. Is a fun decent and a moderate accent. Qwick turns, and varying terrain keeps it fresh. There are a few stunts off to the sides of the trail if you have a sharp eye. The trail itself offers enough challenges to keep most riders fully engaged. I love this trail on my 7" full squish rig, but its totally rideable on a hard tail-if not a bit bumpy. It offers a fast, narrow, windy, traversing, varying, beautiful, challenging, fun route down the north side of Mt. Elden One of my favorite trails in Flagstaff.
Recommended Route: This trail is a longer decent than Brookbank, and a mutch better choice to go down in my opinion, if you dont mind riding up the little elden trail to get to schults creek. Link it up with the Schultz Creek Trail and you've got a great ride for the whole family. (I ride this with my dad and he's 62).
Other recommended trails in the same area: Sunset, Little Gnarley, S.C.T., Lost Burrito trail, oney(Ginger?), lots of great trail in the area - explore them all.

Summary: Awesome trail, and is a testament ot Flagstaff's volunteers. Great trail, and should not be missed by anyone who rides in this area. I did a jump over the Rocky Chrysler carcass....obviously this was too much for such a pansy
Recommended Route: Going down...(but not the 'going down' that Rocky Chrylser does on schoolboys)
Other recommended trails in the same area: Walnut Canyon

Summary: Totally awesome singletrack. Great climbs and the descent down Little Bear left me roarin'like a big bear! Not crowded cuz I did it on a weekday. If you love fast daring singletrack, then don't miss this one. Lots of loop possibilities on the mountain. Cosmic Rays guidebook has several routes, all are good. Camping is allowed but only in designated sites. Flagstaff has gotten very congested and camping on public forest service land is not allowed in most areas. Total bummer.
Other recommended trails in the same area: Parts of the Arizona trail around Walnut Canyon

Ridden Trail: Once a week

Summary: A great piece of singletrack nestled along the backside of Elden. The speed, technicalness, and overall area keeps the trail lively, interesting(Sloping cliffs off to the side), and fresh. This is a definite ride for the more intermediate/advanced rider, but make sure you have plenty of time, energy, and spare parts to get you through it. I ride from the south of town and usually do just under 30mi (about 4hrs of easy riding - not pushing) using the 'recommended route' above. While not overly technical, it has just enough to make it a great ride every time.
Recommended Route: From town: Up Lower Oldham, up Elden Lookout jeep road(and/or Upper Oldham), down Sunset, down Little Bear, up Little Elden, down Schultz Creek, back to town via highway or connector trail to Elden lookout Jeep road...And so on...
Other recommended trails in the same area: Schultz Creek, The Oldhams and Brookbanks, Little Narly, Log Jam, Rocky Ridge... Most all of them.
