Blueberry Pancake Trail

 4 of 5

This premiere downhill trail just opened last weekend (Sept 3rd). Short but sweet, Alyeska has built some killer ramps and boardwalks threw the tree's. Interwoven with the ocassional rock drop and hairpin banked turn. The best place to begin is park at the day lodge, then ride up the bunny slopes until the top of Chair 7, less than 100 meters down hill on right is the start, this is a one way trail running adjacent to Chair 7 towars the tram station.

Summary:
Pretty cool for Alyeska to step up and test the waters of resort riding capacities. That being said, it still needs a long way to go.
I thought the elevated sections were nice and friendly if one was running sticky tires and ready for slick surfaces. The wall rides are rad, but the mud holes right before them are pretty brutal. Insert gravel por favor. The flow is also one of those things that will need to be improved for future additions to a trail network (dream, dream).
All in all, its a fun addition to a grand valley loop of Winner Creek and the hand tram to the Ididarod trails out of Crow valley.

Recommended Route:
Its a downhill trail with an uphill route on the ski run below.
I think I could climb the whole thing though. I'll re-post if I or a friend cleans it up too.

Other recommended trails in the same area:
Winner creek to the pass, looped out to Crow creek, and along the bike paths of town.
