Cross Country Rider Summary: Good all-around trail system. The section labled "Bicycle Bumps" is a short fun section of ups and downs I always hit at least once per trip. Early spring much of the system all wet and muddy, often impassible, but i imagine that will clear up as summer moves on. Recommended Route: Bicycle Bumps Other recommended trails in the same area: None

Cross Country Rider Summary: I love these trails. Some are long, some are short, very thing is really well marked, and most of them are in a cirle patter, so its easy to find your way around, plus at major intersections, there are maps in boxes that you can look at. Good cross country skiing too. The trails very alot. Some are all roots, some are wide dirt trails, but most are just like paths you would see everywere. The trails are well maintained (they even put wood chips in wet spots). Trails very alot in dificulty. Recommended Route: My to favorite routes are, the trail bicycle bumps, which is easy to find. A better, lesser known one is when you park by the exparmiental animal farm. Go across the street and you will find the trail head, its a fast windy trail with lots of small bumps and small hills. Lots of fun! Other recommended trails in the same area: Look up the equanox trail.

Weekend Warrior Summary: Some of the trails are good, this summer they spead wood chips on some of the trails, witch gobbles up speed, and makes sprits hard. Recommended Route: There are several places to access the trails around the campus. Other recommended trails in the same area: Ester dome is losts of fun.

, from Fairbanks - The Best Place to Ride Summary: A great place to test out your suspension setup. Lot's of parallel and off camber roots. Several kilometers (these are XC ski trails so miles don't apply) of single track trails. Not too technical unless it rains and then the roots become slippery. A good place to ride for all skill levels. Don't forget to bomb down the "Bicycle Bumps" trail (To get to the Bicycle Bumps trail do the following: When entering the UAF Ski trail complex from the Ski Hut, go due West for approximately 1/8 mile (0.2 km) and turn right on the downhill trail across from the Radar Dish. Proceed on this downhill trail for about 1/4 mile (0.4 km) and then take a left onto a short trail (50 yards) which leads out into a field. Immediately upon turning left onto this short trail, look for a narrow trail to the right. This narrow trail is the start of the Bicycle Bumps trail. It is about 1/2 mile (0.8 km) long and really fun.) Remember that when the snow starts falling, find another place to ride until Spring break up. Do not ride on these trails in the Winter ! The skinny skiers will catch you (they can ski faster then you can ride), pummel you into submission, and then take your bike to sell at their next Ski Swap fund raiser. Recommended Route: At the Geophysical Institute on the West end of the UAF campus. Start at the Ski Hut. Other recommended trails in the same area: Hey, this is Alaska..... There are trails all over.
