, from ANCHORAGE Summary: AWESOME SINGLETRACK. THIS TRAIL CAN BE RIDDEN BY ALL SKILL LEVELS. IT ALL DEPENDS ON HOW LONG A RIDER WANTS TO GO. I WROTE THE FIRST DESCRIPTION. JUST THOUGHT I WOULD ADD A COOL ROUTE. A BUDDY AND I TURNED THIS TRAIL INTO AN AWESOME 40 MILE LOOP. WE START AT THE KENAI RIVER BRIDGE AND BOAT LAUNCH. WE CROSSED THE HIGHWAY AND RODE THE 11 MILES ON SNUG HARBOR RD TO THE COOPER LAKE TRAIL HEAD WHERE WE STARTED ONE OF THE BEST SINGLETRACK TRAILS I HAVE RIDDEN. AFTER THE TRAIL WE FINISHED THE LAST 8 MILES OR SO BACK DOWN THE STERLING HIGHWAY TO THE CAR. IF YOU GOT THE LUNGS IT IS DEFINETELY WORTH THE TRIP. GREAT RIDE!
Recommended Route: START AT COOPER LAKE TRAIL HEAD AND FINISH AT RUSSIAN LAKES TRAILHEAD. LESS UPHILL AND BETTER DOWNHILLS Other recommended trails in the same area: RESURRECTION PASS, JOHNSON PASS
