Mostly paved asphalt. Some off shoots that lead to a few very steep but short downhills. One that leads out into the middle of a football field, be careful on that one it crosses a common walking trail at the very bottom. There is no way to see if someone is coming so have a lookout. A great little family trail with some good easy off road stuff.

Summary:
The paved trails are fun to ride since they are steep and winding. There are a lot of blind corners so you have to watch out for other users but the traffic usually seems pretty light. There are off pavement trails in and around the park that are fun to explore and ride when you don't have a lot of time.

Recommended Route:
You can enter Russian Jack from a number of locations. I like to connect up to Russian Jack by coming from Goose Lake near the university.

Other recommended trails in the same area:
Goose Lake and all the trails in and around UAA and APU.
