This trail has many miles of fast singletrack. There is little elevation change. The trail has several loops and shortcuts which provide an endless combination of rides. There is no specified way to ride the trail, but many sections are more fun in one direction. Explore it and have fun!

Trail Directions
In the Mobile Area, traveling on I-65, take exit 3 onto Airport Blvd. Go West. Stay on Airport for about 3 miles until you reach the intersection with University Blvd. Take a right onto University and go 1 mile. At the interscetion with Old Shell take a left and proceed past the University. After 2 miles at the Hillcrest-Old Shell intersection you should see a church and a field on the right. Most people park in the field opposite the church. There is a trailhead that is at the edge of the field. Head down this trail and start looking for the trench. Just before you reach it you will see a small entrance to a trail on the left take it. It allows you to skip the trench, the sand, and the dirt road. You will come out on the dirt road cross it and keep following the trail.

Summary:
Awesome. It's been a few years since I've ridden this network. I was suprised at the amount of construction has gone on in the area. A lot of trail seems to be missing but a lot of new trail has been constructed. Whoever has been building trail has been doing a great job. Fast, fun and easy to follow single track. I especially liked the trash pit with all the bottles, irons and doll baby heads.

Recommended Route:
Follow the white blazes about 7 miles until you hit the clear cut. Supposedly the trail continues on the other side but we turned around and followed the yellow blazes back.

Other recommended trails in the same area:
Chickasawbogue, UWF

Ridden Trail:
Once a week

Summary:
I just rode the trail two weeks ago and it was alot of fun although the recent construction and development has left some parts of the trail with dead ends. Unfortunately these dead ends usually aren't within sight so you usually have to back pedal a good bit before you get back on the trail. It has a nice flow to the trails while offering a nice mix of downhill, some decent uphill, jumps, a few table-tops, as well as some tight turns. Only once did I find myself thankful for being cautious as I approached some of the larger mounds. Be careful around the mound that has two wooden ladders running down the backside because if you not careful and take the wrong trail, the one running to the right, you will hit a six or seven foot drop off straight down. Overall, I had a great time and will be riding it again most likely this weekend.

Recommended Route:
The trails are marked, but not very well, so mix and match your routes and have fun all day.

Summary:
This is the trail that I learned the basics on. It's great for the beginners who want to build up their confidence. Plus, it even has some sections that'll satisfy the riders with an intermediate skill level. You might run into a dead end or two because of the debris leftover from Katrina, but otherwise the trail is still great. The guys at Cadence120 definitely did a good job of cleaning up.

Recommended Route:
My favorite route is the "Black Snake Hollow" loop.

Other recommended trails in the same area:
Any of them, though I here that Providence isn't what it used to be.

Summary:
This trail is getting shorter by the day. Between the damage Ivan inflicted on it and the constant construction by the university there is only about 8-9 miles of trails left. It is still a great trail and is well maintained and well marked. It is a very good trail for beginners to intermediate riders.

Recommended Route:
Any of them

Other recommended trails in the same area:
Chickasabouge Park
