Ridden Trail: Once a week

Cross Country Rider Summary: Tough trail. If you can climb all of these hills, your pretty good and better than me. Water crossings followed by loose sand climbs. Weight forward and you lose traction in the rear. Weight back and you wheelie too much. Lots of ruts, baby heads and vines and branches along best traction routes. A vine snagged my handlebar and stopped me completely in my tracks! Felt like being in a cartoon. I ride this because I live very close and it is a technical, hard workout. Not fun, but good workout. Recommended Route: Mentioned previously. Behind MIMC Eastern Shore facility. Ride east to end at Regency Oaks subdivision where it ends. Either turn around and take more punishment or ride back on Highway 90 to entry point. Other recommended trails in the same area: Have not explored Malbis trails yet. Plan to soon. The Bogue has bad memories for me. Left part of my collar bone there. Too far to drive. Also plan to visit Blakely soon.

, from Robertsdale, AL Summary: This trail is now scary. The ATV's, and now 4 WD's that are somehow able to get in there have torn it up. Read the post about bullets flying in the clay pits, this is Alabama. Dudes very scary riding and I don't recommend it unless you are a freak. Also, the post about Catman Road - it was way cool until Orange Beach paved it for the beach buggie bikes. There are some good extensions off the pavement, but very sandy and hard to find but well worth it because I have never seen whiter sand, or bluer water at the small lakes that you can find. My recommendation is Blakely State Park - it has been knocked, but there are some killer trails if you take the time to explore. Yes you will get fined for riding the Breastworks, but they are impossible to ride anyhow and those are a tribute to those who fought, so why tread on hallowed ground anyhow. IMHO, the park is the best riding in South Alabama - the Bogue blows so enjoy what you can find without the fear of being run over or shot at. Other recommended trails in the same area: If you really want to ride, try Southern Illinois, it's the best MB'ing without having to travel west. Good Luck all and if someone finds a decent trail in south Alabama let me know because otherwise

, from MOBILE Summary: THIS IS THE WORSE SET OF 'TRAILS'I HAVE EVER RIDDEN, IF YOU CAN CALL THEM TRAILS. IF YOU DO NOT LIVE WITHIN TEN MINUTES DO NOT EVEN BOTHER. HUGE ERODED RUTS ON THE OTHER SIDE OF JUMPS MAKE FOR AN UNENJOYABLE RIDE. THE ENDING OF SOME OF THE DOWN HILL ARE SO ENTIRELY ERODED AND SANDY THAT YOU CAN'T STAY ON YOUR BIKE TO MAKE IT UP THE NEXT HILL. WHAT CAN I SAY GOOD ABOUT THE 'TRAILS'; GOOD DOWNHILL IF IT WERE NOT SO RUTTED, CREEKS ARE A REFRESHING SPLASH, AND THAT IS IT. Recommended Route: PARK AT THE INFIMARY AND GO DOWN HILL IN PARKING LOT, JUMP CURB AND ENTER TRAILS. Other recommended trails in the same area: SOUTH ALABAMA TRAILS AND CHIKASABOGUE

, from Daphne AL Summary: * * * * Great Down-Hills ,depending on recent weather can be Very Sandy..or VERY muddy...Always keep yer eye out for Rock.Ruts, ravines, and ATV's ..most of them are decent sorts though :) Recommended Route: I wanted to correct a mistake I made in an earlier review. I stated the Gasline is 6.5 from the Infirmary to Malbis...this is ROUND-trip..not One-way..my bad! :) Also of note, lately they have been widening Hwy 90 from Daphne to Malbis..that means more shoulder for those that do road-trips in that area. Good luck to all!
