lots of tight singletrack, roots, and challenging man made obstacles. ie bridges, teeters, huge berms, step-ups, stairs, ramps, etc slower paced at most sections, but wide open on others.
8501 Tanner Williams, at the entrance to the US Coast Guard Aviation Training Center. you must be a member of the CMBC(coastie mountain bike club)to get on base. membership is free so call brandon at 251-591-6691 to join the club and get to ride mobiles newest and best groomed trails.
Summary: the trails are well marked and flow with ease, while the course is short, it contains enough obstacles along the way to peak interest. this trail is not as much for the xc riders looking to bust a lung so much as it is for the recreational rider to have a playground wrapped around a challenging xc course. take that for what it is worth. the trail builders are not trying to compete with the likes of oak mountain, they are just giving another fun option to the riders in mobile, and i know they have succeeded. the trail is lots of fun for any skill level. make sure you call ahead to have a club member escort you to the trail. 251-591-6691. security is fairly tight. after a trail ride in the summer take a dip in the pool right outside the end of the trail.
Recommended Route: start by the resevior entrance or go behind the exchange and follow the arrows.
Other recommended trails in the same area: the bouge in chicksaw, u.s.a. trails, providence, bethel in biloxi, oak mountain near birmingham, u.w.f trail in p-cola
