Cross Country Rider Summary: An enlongated loop around a mountain ridge. A mix of nice single track and some fast fire roads. This is the first time riding this trail; it was reccommended and I rode it as I was traveling through the area. Definitely bring your 2.1 or larger tires. I got two pinch flats with my 1.95s on the fast single track downhill sections. I even had 45+ pounds of pressure in my tires.
One negative is that bicyclist are only allowed on the red trail. This place would be even better if shortened loops could be made out of the numerous trails and area. Recommended Route: Either direction is good, though I preferred the CW direction because one can warm-up with the steady fire road climb and flatten out on the fire road and then bomb the single track. Props to the B.U.M.P group for nicely designed trails. They are fun and drain well. It had rained here 2 days ago and hardly any standing water. Also, thanks to David on the single speed for the ride back to the trail head after the second pinch flat.

Weekend Warrior Summary: This trail is very well maintained and a lot of fun. All climbs are do-able for riders except maybe blood rock but with a little practice it should be. The first day I rode this trail, I lost a bolt in my chainstay and was lucky enough to be a short walk to the road. I caught a ride from a ranger who was extremely nice and even made a call to find out where the local bike shop was. The park also has a BMX track that was tempting but didnt try. The trail itself is nice tight, twisty singletrack for about 75% of the time with a few miles being on fire roads. Recommended Route: I only had time to ride this trail 1.5 times due to my bolt incident. So i only got to try it out CCW from the north trailhead. The only problem I had is when I came out to the road after seven bridges I had a hard time trying to find where the trail started again. You have to ride up the road about 1 mile and on the left by the picnic areas. I have to thank cahaba cycles which is located close to the park who got me back to riding in no time.

Cross Country Rider Summary: I ride this trail a lot. A good mix of climbs, technical spots, and winding dirt ribbons that leaves you worn out when done. Good scenery both in winter and summer. This trail has something for everyone, even the youngest of aspiring trail addicts. Recommended Route: Depending on where you start, you'll have something different. Try starting from each trailhead and go in different directions. Other recommended trails in the same area: Trussville, Lake Lurleen.
