Weekend Warrior Summary: trail is very fun and relaxing, not very technical so you can just pedal and enjoy the scenery. the trails are very long so be sure to pack a full camel-bak,but as mentioned before there is nothing to exciting about this trail. the highlight of the whole place is the trail off of the springs, which follows a creek and is really pretty, just bring some bug spray. as far as i know all the trails were open to bikes and the trails were all pretty hard packed with little to no grass. camping area's are really nice and well kept if you decide you want to do an overnite stay...

Ridden Trail: Ridden Once

, from Flordia Summary: This is a well kept, VERY well marked trail. There are even little benches frequently placed along the trail. The trail winds through the woods and takes you by several ponds and a creek(Blue Springs). BUT, somewhere into my 9th mile I realized that this is a hiker's trail. This trail does not roll fast because it is covered with GRASS. I personally like some sort of obstacle such as roots or logs or an occasional bump in the trail. Conecuh has none of the above. Every tree that had fallen across the trail has been cut by a chainsaw and removed from the path. If you would like to duplicate my experience at Conecuh, find a long stretch of highway and ride on the grassy shoulder for 26 miles. This is not a difficult trail as far as trails go but, it is LONG and you are in the middle of the capital of Nowhere. The west side of the north loop is 8.2 miles. I give it two stars for effort. Recommended Route: The north loop is long, senic, and BORING. The south loop is off limits for cyclists. Other recommended trails in the same area: UWF campus, Timberlake(if you are in the neighborhood)

Ridden Trail: Every few months

, from Dothan,Alabama Summary: Open Pond is a fee area with restrooms and a short trail around the lake. Sadly the southern loop of this trail has been closed to bicycles for years so the Open Pond/Campground site requires a road ride to find the northern loop. The map shows not only the trail but the many Forest Service roads which can be added to the 17 mile route. White blazes make the going easy. Encourage folks to oil the chain and experience the Conech Forest scenery. Recommended Route: The trailhead is about 2 miles north of the Open Pond turnoff on highway 137. Look for the brown sign with the hiking guy on it. This is also north of the Blue Lake rec area. Maps are available at the BP gas station on 137 or can be picked up from the wooden box outside the gate of the park offices on the way to Open Pond.

Ridden Trail: Once a month

, from Andalusia AL Summary: The sothern trail is a more tech trail running around the campsights. All of the trails are well marked and clear of everything but spider webs. This trail does get very slow down by Blue Springs. This is the shorter of the two but it is the most challing. The Northen trail is long and requires well con-ditioned riders. It also has some fast runs in the cross over section between the loops. This trail croses 137 twice and if your not conditioned you'll find your self riding the highway back. The loop its self is flat with small hills. Recommended Route: There are two major loops so start near Blue Lake and you can trail to either one. Other recommended trails in the same area: Chickasauobue in mobil is the closest.
