Timberlane Trails

Average Rating:    (3.5 of 5)

No. of Reviews: 10

Starts off on gravel path to share with the walking folk. After you follow the creek for a while, it branches off for bikes and the gravel stops. A few bridges, the occasional up and down, but nothing extreme. Plenty of signs and 5 trail heads, each with a map.
Open to the public from dawn to dusk, but not well marked on how to get there from the front of the neighborhood.

Directions from I-45:
-Exit Cypresswood Drive and head east
-Turn right on Aldine-Westfield Rd. (after bridge)
-Turn right on Wood River into Timberlane neighborhood
-Turn left on Grand Rapids (you can't turn right)
-Grand Rapids will end, with the park entrance and parking lot to your left

Summary:
Good flowing trail, not real technical

Recommended Route:
Anyone ridden this in a while? I went last year 2015 October, and the trail was torn up from construction. Anyone know the condition, is it back to being ridable?

Summary:
Trail has some slight challenges for the beginning rider-- it's a good place to get your feet wet. I came here before nearby Cypresswood Trails, and yes, like other reviewers I agree that it pales in comparison. However, some of the twists/turns found in Cypresswood can be found here on a smaller scale, as well as a nice 20' halfpipe, as well as other drops hidden off the main trail for those will to hump their bike up for a good downhill thrill. to learn about future expansion plans by Timberlane MUD and Talon Trails to turn this into a 5 mile track.

Recommended Route:
However....it's not that big as it is.

Other recommended trails in the same area:
Cypresswood

Summary:
Great trail if you watch Dora the Explorer. Trail is weak. Why even bother with this disaster of a trail when cypress wood is just a few miles away? It's a Walmart bike trail.

Recommended Route:
The route back to the cypress wood trails.
