Flintridge Trail

Average Rating:    (3.14 of 5)

No. of Reviews: 7

Tight, twisty 3.5 mile long singletrack with very moderate elevation changes. A perfect place for beginners to work on their bike skills. The park has both an inner bike trail and an outer 1.2 mile multi-purpose trail.

Summary:
If you live in The Woodlands this is it. The inner trail system is tree lined rooty single track . The outer system, double wide flat & easy with many sandy runs. Due to previous rains the parallel river trail is hurting. This happens to be the fastest most technical area.
there are many trails to explore. Right now its a pretty boring ride. But hey its better nothing.

Summary:
Since this trail is fairly close to the house I loaded up the bike and headed over. The trail is extremely wooded and even though there was a decent breeze this morning, there was no breeze moving through the woods. I was quite surprised how tight the trail was, brush and small limbs constantly rubbing on your arms and legs. I didnt have any scraps or scratches so no big deal just was not expecting this. Maybe since I have been out of riding a while this is the norm.

Recommended Route:
The inner trails are tight and fun and cross over the outer trail several times. Pretty easy to get turned around but just hit the outer trail and eventually you will find the exit. I enjoyed the inner trails with lots of turns and lots and lots of trees. There is a trail down by the creek that is a lot of fun. One trail is a dead end near someone's house...not sure if the trail is being worked or if it was blocked in the past few storms. There a lots of roots and quite a few trees to jump or crawl over.

I HIGHLY recommend a helmet! There are several low hanging trees that you can hit if you are not paying attention.

This is a very nice and easy going mtb track right next to the Woodlands area at Spring Creek, Spring TX. See my video of the track here on youtube: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BgdhsRzESvI

Summary:
This trail system has evolved nicely over the last few years. In addition to the inner bike trail mentioned in the other reviews, there is an added south loop which has some fun gullies with steep entrances and exits. Not a hard trail system to ride, but if you are in the woodlands it is a fun ride.

Recommended Route:
all of it.

Other recommended trails in the same area:
there are none! cypresswood is kinda blah, if you have to drive. Huntsville is nice, but it is so far from everywhere.

Summary:
Not worth the trip out there. If you absoutley had nothing else to ride and live close enough to ride there, then it might be ok.

Do not make the trip out there the only thing you want to do is try a new trail.

Other recommended trails in the same area:
Jack Brooks down south. Worth the trip. Memorial Park is good, but not as good as Jack Brooks. Cypresswood is fun.
