Cypress Creek

Like many trails in the Houston area, this trail has quite a bit of potential. There are several trails, the most technical of which is right on the creek's edge, on both banks. Heading west along the creek and and under Telge road will take you to a large artificial reservoir that is dry 95% of the time. Good for practicing sprints and short climbs. With a little work, these trails could be quite fun.

Summary:
Not maintained in a long time, looks like it could have been fun years ago. Currently about 1.5 miles if you bob and weave and backtrack to cover as much ground as possible. Mosquitoes are completely insane and there are large piles of debris and trees down over what would seem to be the best part of the trail.

Summary:
Parts were great although trail would end suddenly. My buddy got a leg full of thorns. Lots of sand when following stream bed. We had a good time but couldn't find a consistent trail.

Recommended Route:
Any route that goes for more than a 1/2 mile.

Summary:
Tried this trail out today based on the reviews. As of 2/2010 the trails are not maintained but like the others said it makes for a good ride. Lots of potential. Some of the trails along the banks have eroded away. Use caution and look ahead before taking the dips.

Recommended Route:
Follow the designated nature trail for a fun run.

Summary:
I was searching for something close to the house and saw this trail. This is really for beginner riders. I rode both sides of the creek and didn't find a whole lot of options. At the time (4/12/08), it was not maintained once you past the designated "Nature Trail" that is connected to the park. Logged about 4 miles trying every possible combination.

Recommended Route:
Ride across the wooden bridge and keep with the designated Nature Trail signs for a beginner ride. There is a trail on the west side of the bridge that goes into a private backyard after about one mile.
