Flintridge Trail

Tight, twisty 3.5 mile long singletrack with very moderate elevation changes. A perfect place for beginners to work on their bike skills. The park has both an inner bike trail and an outer 1.2 mile multi-purpose trail.

Summary:
Not worth the trip out there. If you absoutley had nothing else to ride and live close enough to ride there, then it might be ok.

Do not make the trip out there the only thing you want to do is try a new trail.

Other recommended trails in the same area:
Jack Brooks down south. Worth the trip. Memorial Park is good, but not as good as Jack Brooks. Cypresswood is fun.

Summary:
Singletrack on the bike specific trail, almost jeep road on the outer multi-use tail that loops around everything. Both are dirt ( no pavement, asphalt, or crushed stone) There are logs to cross none too difficult, and sand in spots so watch out for your front wheel washing out on turns. Tight and twisty ,easy enough for beginners to hone their skills but challenging enough at speed to keep it interesting for intermediate and expert riders looking for a decent ride. Very slight elevation changes, just enough to feel you're going up or down in elevation.

Recommended Route:
Have ridden it both ways, prefer CCW.

Other recommended trails in the same area:
Carl Barton Park Trail and Huntsville State Park

Summary:
Just heard about this trail the other day and decided to see what it was like. It's located in The Woodlands, TX but Mapquest says it's in Spring. The small, horseshoe parking lot is located on the south side of Flintridge Rd and is easy to miss if you're not paying attention. The park consists of two trails; a 3 1/2 mile long bike trail and a 1 1/4 long multi-purpose trail. The multi-purpose trail is not paved nor does it have any gravel. Just a dirt trail around the park. The bike trail has very tight, twisty singletrack with very little elevation change. There are a few inclines but nothing an experience rider would sweat over. There are quite a few logs placed along the trail of verying degree but all can be crossed by any but the most greenest of beginners. In my opinion this is a great place for beginners to learn good bike skills and for more advanced riders work on switchbacks at speed. The trail ends very close to where it begins. I reccomend riding around once then turn around and do it backwards for a nice 7 mile trip.

Recommended Route:
Take I-45 North to Woodlands Parkway and go west. Turn left on Gosling Rd then right on Flintridge Rd. Park is 1/4 mile down on the left.

Other recommended trails in the same area:
Huntsville, Double Lake Recreation Area, Cypresswood Proper (Collins Park), Cypreswood Improper (Manko3)
