Ridden Trail: Ridden Once

Weekend Warrior Summary: This park has a paved walking/jogging path in the rear by the baseball fields. There are several entrances to the "nature trails" off this path. The main trail (called the 'Wood Trail' according to trail signs) is wide and multi-use (watch out for hikers and their dogs!) and goes approx. 1 mile with at least one big gully (slippery shale at the bottom; tricky roots on the way up). There are several singletrack trails that lead off of this trail. I tried a couple of the singletracks but they both ended abruptly at a fence (lame property owners!) or came out on a tight crumbly edge about 25 feet above a creek. I saw a couple of jumps/drops including one very close to the paved walk/jog path off a cement water spout and one off the main 'Wood Trail.' There were about 3 singletrack trails that I didn't venture onto (they'll require a closer look later).
Trail composition is mainly hardpack (with plenty of roots), some patches of gravel (sometimes deep) on the main trail, and some soft mulchy stuff. There is a strange strip of grassy clearing not far from the trail head that cuts straight through the foresty sections.
Overall, a nice pleasant trail ride with a couple of semi-tricky elements to practice on. I went during 90-degree weather with high humidity in June and didn't have any problem with mosquitos - a few spider-buddies but nothing unpleasant.

Weekend Warrior Summary: I've been there plenty of times and I can say it has its ups and downs. Not a great idea to go during the hot soggy months of summer because you'll be attacked by swarms of mosquitos. But when its a dry, cold winter day, knock yourself out. It has nice, steep traiLS AND it goes on for a LONG time. Its the average park. Other recommended trails in the same area: Memorial

Weekend Warrior Summary: This trail is pretty long depending on how far you want to go. I would think its about 3-6 miles long, with a few forks in the trail. There are 2 HUGE drops, you go downhill about 30-50 feet. You need to be well energized to take this route. You might want to bring some snacks and a lot of water.

, from Friendswood Summary: Flat trail starts out wide and goes to single track with hills you can take off the flats, but most are pretty rooted up. Technical not impossible. Good are town training trail. I ride from from the house to the trail around the trails and back home covering around 12 miles. If you like jumps there's some good BMX stuff there. I broke a rim doing some tricks on them last week. Recommended Route: Start at the trail head on the East side behind the soccer field. If you work it right you can get 5 limes out of it. There was more before the golf course cut through. Other recommended trails in the same area: Jack Brooks, Memorial, Huntsville
