Cypress Creek

Like many trails in the Houston area, this trail has quite a bit of potential. There are several trails, the most technical of which is right on the creek's edge, on both banks. Heading west along the creek and and under Telge road will take you to a large artificial reservoir that is dry 95% of the time. Good for practicing sprints and short climbs. With a little work, these trails could be quite fun.

Summary:
I was searching for something close to the house and saw this trail. This is really for beginner riders. I rode both sides of the creek and didn't find a whole lot of options. At the time (4/12/08), it was not maintained once you past the designated "Nature Trail" that is connected to the park. Logged about 4 miles trying every possible combination.

Recommended Route:
Ride across the wooden bridge and keep with the designated Nature Trail signs for a beginner ride. There is a trail on the west side of the bridge that goes into a private backyard after about one mile.

Summary:
This trail is actually very good for those of you who aren't afraid of a little AC riding. There is a jump section created by BMXr's that rocks. This trail is not for sissified, boohoo to many roots riders. Grow some nuggets and take the 12 foot drop!!

Recommended Route:
Most of the trail is good

Summary:
I live pretty much right where the two creeks come together, and i ride thes trails nearly everyday. They are fun, but i personally find them a little easy. I don't think they compare with cypresswood or anything like that in difficulty, and the grounds goes from hard pack to extremeley sandy. Another problem is that sometimes the creek is too high to cross. The trails are great, if you want to get in shape, and they are fun because there are no long uphills or anything really technicle, and you can go pretty fast. I ussually follow the creek and then loop around through the woods. If you feel like riding them and would like someone to show you the way, email me at homerp04@yahoo.com anyone could ride it.

Recommended Route:
I don't know how to describe the spot, but on North Eldrige, there is a bridge that will connect to the trails. The other way was mentioned by one of the Brians, go Jarvis ect

Summary:
Ride close to the creek to get the hills. No matter where you're at, you're surrounded by roads and shops so thats good to know if you eat $hit and have already treked a good way. I grew up in this area so I'm probably partial to it, but the scenery is very good and because of the stables nearby there are trails that are well placed from the horses. At times it can be sandy. Who should ride: anyone

Recommended Route:
Start at the Jarvis dead-end (within the Ravensway subdivision) and go to where Big and Little Cypress Creek merge to the left. Cross the low level creek and on the other side begins a series of trails that can take you as far as you'd like to go up the creek towards N. Eldridge and Louetta. Circular trails exist just within the forest if you dare to venture out....

Other recommended trails in the same area:
Cypresswood trails.
