Weekend Warrior Summary: Great trail very diverse tight turns at many places some good ups and downs especially the beginning and hobo run. Thick forest many roots but no rocks or stair steps. One way so no worry of head on collisions. Spiders are harmless but the webs are plentiful in the mornings. Watch for snakes around the creek trails. Great workout and quality work with bridges and wooden structures. Other recommended trails in the same area: Memorial in Houston

Weekend Warrior Summary: First time out at Jack Brooks. Real nice single track with the front being a little tough. Lots of roots and hills. The back has a 'Playground' which is a lot of fun and had to go do it a couple of times. Free park but is a drive way down south. Recommended Route: Enter Park off of 2004
At Y turn Left
Trail Map next to entrance
Enter on Left side come back on right
If novice then follow tree line and disc golf to other entrance that is flatter/easier.

Weekend Warrior Summary: Amazing trail when dry. Went out for the first time this past weekend and it was awesome. Lots of quick up downs with scattered parts of flat twisty train through some thick woods. Lots of roots and lots of groves made by bikers riding when it was too wet. The bridges, jumps and slides are all quality and a blast. Well worth the drive.

Cross Country Rider Summary: Something out of the norm. Jack Brooks is an awesome trail for houston all of the previous posts say I all I am just reassuring anyone thinking of heading out there that this is a fun trail. If the bridges were a little narrower it would be a bit more interesting, but the current bridges keep it rideable for everyone which I totatly appreciate.
Thanks for the hard work on the trail.
Have Fun

Ridden Trail: Once a month

Weekend Warrior Summary: Without a doubt most of this park is not for beginners. My friend and I are fairly green but decided to go see what a real trail is like and let me tell you we were very impressed. There's plenty of parking to go around but I wish I had known there was a beginner starting point as we ended up starting in what I would consider a very technical spot. The hills are very steep and littered with roots and the trail constantly turns. Makes for an eye-opening experience but the turns don't give you much time to build up speed and tackle the next hill. I can't think of one good sized hill that I was able to go halfway up. Of course as I mentioned I'm a newbie but I can imagine that only the super-fit with 2lbs. bikes are going to make it over some of those hills. We finally found some less technical trails that suited us better and had a blast! Everything is well marked with the exception of a difficulty level but we were fortunate enough to meet a cool, experienced rider who helped us out. The lower level trails don't have the same inclines and declines that the more technical trails have but they have tons of twists and turns plus the occasional fun toys that I've read about in these reviews. Overall I'd say that there is something for everyone at Jack Brooks unless you're looking for some serious downhill action. If I had to change one thing I'd ask for some nice, long downhill sections where I could have some fun without destroying my poor, fat legs. Without a doubt Jack Brooks is worth the drive but make sure you bring plenty of water and mosquito spray. You can stop without being swarmed. There are restrooms near the parking lot for the girls and tons of trees for the guys. We'll be heading out at least once a month to see if our skills have improved. Just look for the two fat bikers who are always talking about soccer. Other recommended trails in the same area: The Anthills, Cypresswood (but it's mostly gone now, Sept. 2006)
