Cross Country Rider Summary: I live in Kinghood in the summer and go to school up in Arkansas. East End Park is right behind my house and it was good for MB a few years ago but now its just paved over with pebbles and is ok for a work out but technical it is not at all! Fast in some areas if you want to go fast. Not really a mountain biking trail at all, just used now for the richies of the hood and poser bikers that have never seen a real trail before. Houston area cant compete at all with Arkansas but thats cause its flat down there. Come up to the Ouachitas for some real biking! Recommended Route: Uhm they all kinda suck so any will do. Its an awesome park though for birding and thats why i love it in East End Park. Other recommended trails in the same area: Memorial Park trails, Lake Houston Park, not state any more cause the state wont fund Texas state parks any more so they sold it!

Weekend Warrior Summary: Rode the trail for the first time today, but didn't get to go far due to the late start. Most of the trail is improved, with fine gravel, and very smooth. There are a few shortcuts between the improved trails, but none appeared to be challenging. There is a new elevated, wooden walkway that extends from the lake, through approximately 1/4 mile of swamp, to what looks like a new section of trail that leads to the park entrance. The only challenge to the wooden walkway was the large amount of walkers that I had to weave around. I will ride it again tomorrow, and get some pics to post. It is a fun trail if you want to bring the kids along.

Weekend Warrior Summary: Ok, This trail is a lot of fun after it has rained for 3 days straight. I rode the trail and it had spots of 14 in. of water and lots of mud. All the bridges and technical areas have been destroyed. On a dry day this ride would suck. Other recommended trails in the same area: Lake Bryan, Double Lake,

, from Kingwood Summary: This trail is being built back up...over the winter it was annihilated by rain but the bridges are rebuilt and only a few obsticles are left to clear on the back trails. The fire gravel trails are in tip top shape and are great for an easy afternoon ride.

, from Houston, TX Summary: Fun to ride when dry, however homeowners built fences down to the water so it's kind of broken up. The link above is broken, so try http://www.garynuke.homestead.com/Kingwood.html for a good photo. Recommended Route: Start at parking lot and go left. Or go around to technical area right away. The open field trails are boring and hot. The bridge in this photo is just south of some idiot's fence. Other recommended trails in the same area: Area dries slowly after rain.
