Summary:
If you really want to ride it heres the fine details. There are expert hills into the creeks and is a unique trail being that it uses the creek as a path if you can find them. I know the sidewalk path because I roller blade it and ride it with the neigborhood kids. There are dirt trails that lead into the creek through the woods you got to look close to find them. Ride this side and orient yourself with the west side. You can take the creek the and find paths back onto the dirt if you look real close. The creek should be a few inches deep, if the water gets too deep you missed an entrace back to the trail. I only found 4 entrances to the creek from the West side where you started. When you get done there cross the wooden bridge eastward and hang a right. When you get to the kiddy park ride behind it and there's more trails that lead into the creek. Head East through the creek. There's not any trails off of the creek unless you bring some branch clippers and start making your own dirt trails along the creek. From this point on the right side of the creek is the most promising area for some good dirt trails but they haven't been developed. If you took a left on the sidewalk after crossing the wooden bridge there are some more sparse trails after going under Bethany Road. I never got the nerve to ride these trails I just thought they were walking trails. The rest of the trails are just sidewalk where you have to cross backstreed road to link up to other sidewalk trails. To my guess the entire 10 mile path is based off of the sidewalk which starts near Vaughn Elementary. I'll give you the counter clockwise path for ease. Cross the wooden bridge take a right take the sidewalk around the bend till it runs into Bethany. Hang a right and cross Bethany at the intersection. Cross Allen Heights into Bethany Lake Park. Head north following that path to hit some more creek side sidewalk riding. This crosses Allen Heights Rd one more time and takes you on another scenic route. When you run into McDermott Rd hang a right and ride the other side of creek. Head back from here. If you want to complete the big circle don't cross Allen Height just stay along side of it heading south. Cross a few residential streets and hang a right on Park Place. Take Park Place up to Ford Middle School. Take a left on the road before the school and hang a right onto the sidewalk after crossing the little creek. There is a few dirt trail here. Keep along that sidewalk going under the Bethany bridge and a little more ways down is that wooden bridge you crossed at the beginning. It's a pretty uban route but doesn't have much dirt.

Start where the map description states. You can also go to Vaughn Elementary School real close to the north and park there.

Summary:
This is more of a Neighborhood network of trails for biking and Jogging. It takes a couple of times to figured out where the main part of the trail is. There are many feeders coming in from different neighborhoods to link them to the main trail. I wish the main part was marked with a yellow line or something. I really like this trail a lot because I live on it so it is easy access but if you are driving here from some other location I would just recommend going to somewhere else in the metroplex that has a more built up trail and is more popular. But if you live in Allen you can't beat it for during the week casual riding.

Recommended Route:
You can start at the location listed at the beginning or around there. There are a couple of parks and schools you can park and start at.

I like the White Rock trail but it is a good 20 - 25 minutes from my house.

pots a nice escape but a real trail is much better! I am not driving to see this after these reviews. But if you know any real trails in the mesquite/allen close area, let me know drop a line in the club

Summary:
I must of missed something as well, this trail SUCKED! If I could give this trail a "0" star I would. All it is short broken trails that dead end. Don't waste your time. Who ever reviewed this trail above must of been one the "pot smokers"!

Summary:
Allen is a city that is suited for biking. It sits in a greenbelt leading to lake Lavon and has many off road trails that break off from the "family" friendly cement paths that run throughout the city. There are some sections that are very extreme and will test your abilities as a true rider. These trails need some work, hopefully DORDA will assist in creating some of the potentially best trails around Collin county. I understand the new 600+ acre Oak Point park in N.E. Plano will meet up with these trails and could possibly be some of the best riding in the metroplex.
Rowlett creek also runs through Allen and has potential for good trails.
