Cross Country Rider Summary: Not much to offer for the drive. The single track area was so twisty to the point to where you could not maintain any kind of speed. The rest of the trail along the boundary line seemed mostly like an old road bed. I did enjoy the rocks even though it had eroded alot and was not much to it.

Weekend Warrior Summary: I feel that any review I give here won't be a fair assessment of the trail as a whole, seeing as how I rode about half of it. I essentially missed the entire southern and western sections of the trail, so this review is based on the eastern and northern sections of the trail.
This is a true ball-buster. Once you start the extremely difficult ascent up the big hill by the spillway, you get an idea of what you've gotten yourself into. Loose limestone cobbles abound, hairy descents, and aerobic ascents. I'd call this a trail of discovery, though....considering that you start aching in places you didn't even know you had. When you go out there, take plenty to drink and a change of clothes so you can enjoy the lake after your ride. I might just have to go back at least once more to ride the southern and west parts of the trail.
There is a $3 park entrance fee per person to get in as of 8-13-2005, so be sure to bring the cash. Recommended Route: Try the counterclockwise route and stay aware of other riders and hikers. Other recommended trails in the same area: Z-Boaz

Weekend Warrior Summary: Love it! I've had some spectacular spills here. Once I ended up upside down in a tree, hanging by my shorts.
Trail is closed after recent rains, so check first. After biking, jump in the lake. Recommended Route: Most riders seem to go Counter-Clockwise on the big loop.
I park at the rest room on the left, just after you enter the park. Go back, on the road, like you are leaving. About 50 feet from the rest room, the trail entrance will be on your left. This goes through some shady, narrow twisting (easy, but fun) woods.
When you come out of the woods, either cross the spillway and start climing (this will take you around the lake- this is the big loop.
You can also stay to the left of the spillway and cross over the dam. This comes out back on the park road.
Have fun with the 'No Fear Zone'- my son still won't go down. Other recommended trails in the same area: Dinosaur Valley State Park, in Glen Rose.
