Cross Country Rider Summary: I think rocky hill is one of the regions great mountain biking areas. I've ridden these trails off and on for several years now, and still look forward to riding them. They are fairly fast trails with lots of turns through small wooded paths, small drop offs and moderate texan climbs. The trails have lots of flow
The owners are friendly. I called them up one day because I had forgotten my helmet. They drove out and lent me one for free. I did not even know them! The owners are starting to improve their bar, which several years back was a great place to have a burger and a beer at the end of a long ride. Last time I was there, they just had the beer. Oh well Other recommended trails in the same area: Emma long and Barton springs in Austin.

Weekend Warrior Summary: A few short intense uphills to start with. Then miles of miles of varied rooty singletrack. Some segments are more playful, with a lot of rolling-coasting, some segments are flatter and faster; others are more twisty and slow; some other segments are sandy and rocky... In the north end you can choose between singletrack and more open trail with longer downhills and uphills, before you go back to the singletrack. Almost at the end a couple of insanely (specially one) steep uphills will test your resistance. 20+ miles of pure MB for $8.00. Ride for hours among pines, oaks, cows and some horses, snakess, armadillos and deers. One of my favorite trails ever. Recommended Route: Follow the map and marks on the trees and do the whole thing. Go to the saloon/lounge at night. Live music, inexpensive drinks, defecating-hen lottery and amazing human fauna. Other recommended trails in the same area: Bluff Creek Ranch. Also $8.00. Shorter but intense and fun, perfect combo for the weekend with Rocky Hill Ranch.

Weekend Warrior Summary: The trail head is rough and once you get past Fat Chuck's Demise it is good for a beginner. There were no maps when we checked in but the Map really wouldn't help because there aren't enough trail markers up. We would start off on one trail and ended on another trail without knowing how or when it happened. There twists and turns and ups and downs that were managable for this beginner. There were orange/yellow ties to let you know you were on a trail. Take plenty of water because there was no water at the water stations on the day we went. If you are tired there is always the service roads you can go back on when you had enough and want to get back to your car. We will go back but when it is a little warmer because today it was COLD.

Weekend Warrior Summary: Well I was really pumped up about riding this trail after looking at all the good reviews on here. I was pretty dissapointed in driving all the way out to Smithville to ride this trail. There is nothing technical about it and found myself bored most of the way. I became tired of looking at the map after the end of each trail. Dont get me wrong the place is really nice and well maintained but no crazy jumps or anything that was daring. A few places were fun and I actually got up to 30 MPH on a downhill. I probably will not ever go back but it was nice to put in a bunch of miles. Recommended Route: All of them to keep it interesting.

Weekend Warrior Summary: I really like this place, it has a good variety of terrain and trail types: Long rocky downhills, easy double tracks, curvey flat single tracks through the woods, and best of all various hard pack and pine needle downhill runs. Don't short change yourself, go all the way to the back of the park - Avenue of the pines, and some of the fence line runs are wide open, long downhills for big speed with rolling terrains for a mini-coaster like ride. I will definitely go back soon. Our favorite hair-raiser run was the last mile on the way back from Station 1: HB to SSS to ME to GH, back to parking lot. Its the designated 'Easy Route', maybe that's going up - but go balls out down it for a thrill, but be careful, many hidden mini-drops (scarey but fun) and you can get going real fast.
