Weekend Warrior Summary: I've been trying to get back in shape, and I've started on this trail as lately its been raining too much to go mess up the Greenbelt.
Well this trail is all about dodging joggers and walkers who will hog the entire path and not move out of your way. "Hike and Bike" is really a misnomer, as its too crowded to enjoy the biking OR the hiking for that matter.
As mentioned elsewhere, you're better off running or walking on this one. Yes, the scenery (both nature and ladies) is very, very nice. However, its so frustrating riding your brakes and dodging people that's it really not worth it.
I'm done with it, Greenbelt here I come. Recommended Route: any other trail. Other recommended trails in the same area: greenbelt.

, from Austin Summary: This is NOT a mountain biking trail. Seriously now, I laugh when I see people with $500+ mountaing bikes plus $100+ worth of "proper atire" riding down these trails as if they're off on some great mountain biking ride. I can see this trail being fun for a little cruise on the schwinn with Grandma or the kids, but in general, bikers just get in the way of the runners. (to whom the trail is greatly suited) -jk Other recommended trails in the same area: Little Walnut Creek

, from Austin , TX , US Summary: Sure this trail is easy (flat smooth ) . The only natural obstacles are the humans and canines . The only place that is really conjested is the part of the trail south of town lake near Zilker , where you actually need to brake for pedestrains . The rest of the trail , especially north of the lake is'nt that bad . Nice views of the city , and you get to go over a few cute wood bridges on the north side . The trail north of town lake is nicer and run althe way from MOPAC to 35 and about a mile east of 35 , where it breaks up . South of the lake the trail runs from MOPAC to just past LAMAR , where it breaks up . You can still make a loop by riding north of River Side then crossing the lake via the ped. lane along 35 . Recommended Route: Best parking at 1st street just up from the power plant. Parking is also right at the Shoal Creek trail head . Variety of loops of diffent lenghts the the user can do . Can easly cross Town lake at Mopac , Lance Armstrong bridge , 35 , or Longhorn dam . Other recommended trails in the same area: Shoal Creek . Barton Creek green belt

, from austin Summary: C'mon people. This is a running trail. Waddup with the poseurs in all their fancy gear going "mountain-biking" around Town Lake? The place is a half-notch above a parking lot for chrissakes. If you wanna check the hotties put on some running shoes and hoof it. Trust me, they're not impressed by your spandex jersey. If you wanna do some mountain biking ride the Greenbelt and get some dirt on your ride - or go ride Emma Long and spill some blood. The only riders on this trail should have training wheels and a cute horn/basket combo. Recommended Route: None. Other recommended trails in the same area: Emma Long/Borla/Rocky Hill

, from Austin Summary: Nice eye-candy when the sun is shining, typically 4-6pm. The gravel sucks up all your power and you'll quickly be looking for hard-pack. Enjoy the jogger-frogger and avoidance skills, but it gets old quickly. Good warm up/cool down for barton creek greenbelt and good to introduce friends/girlfriends for an introductory ride. Recommended Route: Doesn't really matter--check the wind cause its flat every which way. Other recommended trails in the same area: Barton Creek Greenbelt, Muleshoe, City Park
