Varied terrain, mostly very technical, tight, twisty, off-camber turns but some fast banked turns. Short steep climbs and descents. There is a time trial circuit that does all the trails and is 8.0 miles. To give you an idea of how tight the cours is, the fastest recorded time for 8 miles is 49:35. Ride on

Summary:
Basically this little area was taken over by dirt bikes who made lots of noise and tore the trails to crap. About 3 months ago they put up numerous no trespassing signs. One dude on a dirt bike supposedly got fined already, so I am not pushing any buttons. The trails were not that good anyway, all ate up by the dirt bikes. I would personally recommend the Wee-chi-tah trail by the river (opposite Lucy Park). Don't know if the review is any good. Email me and I can give you details. But I wouldn't bother with this one, it's not worth the risk.

Recommended Route:
By the Citco, but don't bother, it's posted closed now.

Other recommended trails in the same area:
wee-chi-tah (off of Scott street, by the bike shop, along the river), much better anyway.

Summary:
This trail is great, it's the one that started me on riding. There are many loops you can choose from, all are fun. There are a couple of cut-in's that you can go down, connect trail to trail. One is Pink Fluffy, named because it's really not as bad as it's first name implies (Devil's Backbone). Watch out for the ATV's and Dirtbikes back there...I wish they wouldn't, they tear up the trail. Beginner to intermediat should consider, and a GOOD bikers should check it out also, it's got some tough stuff in it. Technical climbs, and insane descents.

Recommended Route:
Just go out there and ride, out at the Citco station near the entrance to the housing out there on Seymor Hwy.

Other recommended trails in the same area:
Lucy Park is alright, but not well marked.

Summary:
Death gullies, river overlooks, twisting grassy loops, winding mesquite tree shaded loops, fun hump jumps, short "devil's backbone" switchbacks, dry/wet creek crossings, 1/4 mile straigtaways. This single track is a good trail to get some intermediate riding and bike repair experience.

Recommended Route:
The 8 mile, 80 acre, meandering perimeter loop

Other recommended trails in the same area:
Lucy Park Chief Wichita Loop. Exit 1 I-44 behind the TX tourist travel bureau go to river, ride upsteam, left through old YMCA gate. Fast, Fun, Four miler.

Summary:
The offerings of this trail are good considering the area. It isn't Colorado, but it is fun to come here to stretch the legs, and get away from the cars. The loop that I did is 13 miles. The entrance is the fun part. A big wash out that you can sail over and catch a little flight time. I rode back up, and did it several times.

Recommended Route:
There realy isn't a recommeded route.

Other recommended trails in the same area:
There some others in the area that follow the river that will be opened for use the weekend of the Hotter n Hell Hundred

Summary:
If you're in Wichita Falls, this is worth a look. I live in Dallas, but grew up in the Falls, so I take the bike home when I see the folks. This is a myriad of different trails in sandstone badlands conditions. I love it, it's so different from Metroplex-area trails. I wouldn't call it an advanced ride, but a few of the climbs are fairly technical, as are some tight turns. Lots of thorns, so take precautions or you could be walking out. People joke about Tanglewood being rattlesnake country, and I found out one Summer day that it's true. Huge rattler in the middle of the trail! I weighed my options and turned around. I'd advise to at least ride with a buddy in the warmer months. This trail is a little unrefined, but that's what makes it interesting.

Other recommended trails in the same area:
I don't know of any other trails in the area. If there are any, somebody please post them.
