Fort Davis State Park

Average Rating:    (3 of 5)

No. of Reviews: 1

Short 1-3/4 mile rocky ST within State Park. Trail runs up about 250' to Skyline Dr. and town overlook. However as a loop including paved Skyline Dr. you gain about 500' over 4 mi. to make a fun ride.

Great scenery and no traffic

I reveiw this trail because there are so few trails in the area of Dvis Mtns and Alpine. Also there is no traffic on paved section.

short ST up to overlook. the whole loop including paved Skyline is 4 mi. i made 2 loops and got 1000' elevation.

enjoy the scenery.....lovely hotel and restraunt and pool in the park.

its not all epic in life.

intermediate ..and 70% paved park road.

For additonal exercise go towards McDaonld Obseravtory on State Hwy. Stop where hill starts to climb. Ride 1500' elevation gain over 4 mi. to Observatory.

IMPROTANT UPDATE: even though i have ridden skyline 10 times...i was finally told skyline is closed to bikes because a woman got killed in 1982.

no comment on the stupidity of TPWD
