Colorado Bend State Park

Very technical, and good elevation change. Make sure your a good climber or have granny gear. Has great camping, right on the Colorado river. Spice wood spring is a great natural spring with water falls to swim in, it only a 1/2 mile hike. The park is way out in the middle of no where. It's a nice place to turn your cell phones of and just get away for peace and quit. Oh ya, you dont get good cell service out there, so make all your call before you get there.

Summary:
Colorado Bend State Park currently has over 30 miles of single track and jeep roads. The trail system is being developed by the Friends of Colorado Bend State Park, many of whom are Waco Bike Club members. Lots of nicely flowing single track, with moderate climbs and sweet descents. The rocky sections will keep you on your toes. For trail project info, check out cbsptrails.com.

Recommended Route:
Start at the gate at the Gorman Falls trail trailhead. Take the connector trail to the Lively Loop, and follow the loop clockwise for about .8 mile to the Lemons Ridge Pass connection. Lemons Ridge Pass trends downhill for about 5 miles. Skip the last section of LRP and cross the road to the Spicewood Springs Trail. Follow it for about a mile to the Spicewood Canyon trail and be prepared to hoot your way down a sweet downhill along the ridge to the River Trail. Follow the River Trail through the camping area, and then another couple miles to Dogleg Canyon connection. Take Dogleg Canyon back up the ridge (1.25 mile climb with some wicked switchbacks) to Cedar Chopper Loop. Turn right about .8 mile to Old Gorman Road Trail, .75 mile yee-haa downhill to the Conference Center. From there, easiest to take the road back to the starting gate for an 18 mile loop!

Nothing close, but this is all you need. It's getting better all the time.
