Fairfield Lake State Park/Recreation Area

There are 3 trails. The main trail follows the park boundary. It is similar to a cross country ski trail in width. It links up to more of flat, hard packed single track. The Texas State Park guide says there are 20 miles of bike trails total.

Summary:
The Texas State Park guide lists 48 parks with mountain biking. This is not one I would recommend visiting. The guide rates this 2-3 in level of difficulty. It is a solid one. Not very challenging. The main trail follows the park boundary so it is very straight. It is the width of a cross country ski trail (~4-5 feet wide). There is some terrain and a few stream crossings. The park itself is beautiful. It also has a wide array of wildlife. Other sections of the trail include some hard packed single track through trees. Might be a good place to bring your little kids if you are camping or boating there.

Recommended Route:
Do the park boundary route starting at the entrace to the park. Go all the way to the lake. It is a good view. Then work your way back taking some of the side routes.

Other recommended trails in the same area:
Not much in the area that I know about. I would go to Tyler or Waco.
