Possum Kindgom Hike and Bike
1 reviews
 5 of 5

The Possum Kingdom and Redbird Trail are both the same trail. Actually, the Possum Kingdom Bike & Hike Trail is on Red Bird Hill. It has two trail heads. The eastern one is called the Possum Kingdom Hike & Bike Trail. The Western one is called the Redbird Landing Trailhead, which is across the road from the easternmost Johnson Peak Trailhead. This trail has a total of 5.5 miles of trail. Most people park in the Redbird/Possum Kingdom Trail head parking lot, because there is excellent parking clean bathrooms and a water fountain. The Red Bird/Possum Kingdom Trail also is either an easy warm up trail on your way to the Johnson's Peak Trail, or an ideal beginner trail to take beginners to.

Summary:
imagine a golf cart track as ST MTB trail.

the trail system is maintained like a city park by the Brazos River Authority. the trail itself is 5' wide ST over rock and dirt. groomed rock at that.

i don't want to discourage anyone. this is a great beginner trail. its the place to bring grandma on her first ride.

lovely setting. great views. moderate climbs. excellent signage.

i rate it 5 because of its superior quality of design and maintenace.

DO NOT CONFUSE THIS TRAIL WITH JOHNSON PEAK TRAIL ADJACENT AND MUCH MORE DIFFICULT.
