Cross Country Rider Summary: This trail is about 95% switchbacks and has a few good drops and climbs in the perimeter loop, and a nice technical section in the pumba trail. The times I've been out there, the track has been very well groomed and the route is marked with signs/caution tape. It's a great place to practice rolling through curves without braking. It's also used as the brownsville XC race track. Plenty of parking space, but no amenities other than a convenience store about 1/4 mile away.
Great place to go FAST! Recommended Route: Race route: Start on the East side of the canal that is East of parking lot, follow canal until you see Trail ahead sign, continue to pumba trail, then through 3acre wood, 1000 switchbacks later...exit to sidewalk, go West to the West side of parking lot along sidewalk, enter perimeter loop, follow the climb onto the East canal through the posts and Do the big drop into the canal. Repeat as much as you can.
