Weekend Warrior Summary: Well me and my buddy ride this trail pretty often, its a good training spot. First off... it's not 9 miles, it's 4 and a 1/2 or so. It is somewhat technical and some climbs are tough, my buddy is the stronger of both of us on the climbs. I have trouble getting through all of the sections without having to "hike a bike." The one climb either one of us has yet to accomplish, but i havent seen anyone else climb it, is "the logs" as we have come to call it. There are plenty of cactus, alot of heat, and way too many thorns. My buddy is no beginner by any means, and although i started riding a year ago, i dont consider myself a bad rider at all. Combined we have taken on trails in Houston, Smithsville, Austin and San Antonio; and yet i still think this is an excellent trail. My friend and i were doing 4 laps in high heat at one point. It's the best place to ride in the area and dont let anyone convince you otherwise. Due to trail difficulty and laredo conditions(really hot), this trail gets a good rating. If your in the area don't pass it up. If anyone is interested in going we try to meet Saturday's anywhere from 8-10am and Sundays in the afternoon. Recommended Route: There's a start, there's an end. Ask Rob (the owner) or look for the entrance in the fence on the front side of the houses. If you feel like working on climbs take the hill down the right side of Rob's house (if your facing it) and keep going... stay against the fence till you get to the big 3 climbs. Other recommended trails in the same area: The only other trail in laredo is at Lake Casa Blanca, but it's hard to find the trail and no where near as fun.

Weekend Warrior Summary: Wow, this trail was great! This is one of the most technical trails I have ever been on. The trails are twisty and full of rocks which makes it hard to turn. Especially when there are cacti on both sides of the thin trail. There are some nice drops with boulder-like rocks all the way down. The trail is 9 miles, but I only did five because it took about an hour to find. I never found the starting point because we started to late and got hotttt by 11am. I will be going back ASAP. Recommended Route: 7.5 miles North of Loop 20 on FM1472. The street sign is Copper Mine. Look for a mail box that says Morales, and there will be an abandoned Bordon milk truck at the entrance. From here I was not really sure where the trail starts. I think I started in the middle. My best friend is from Laredo and is now hooked on riding so as soon as he finds out I will post it.

, from San Antonio Summary: This trail was quite unexpected. I didn't realize that extreme south Texas had such a good trail to offer. I thought the only trails south of San Antonio were in Monterrey, Mexico. Luckily, I have had the pleasure of having the local time trial winner and previous Texas Champion as my guide. The trail has just about everything. The trails are characterized by tight single track with cactus and thorny bushes on either side, loose gravel downhills, rocky uphills, 2 foot wide by 50 foot long open wooden bridge 15 feet over a dry rocky creek bed (makes you cringe), maze like loose dirt trails and several recovery areas. This trail exposes all of you weaknessess and is considered to be a good training ground for your skills. If you're coming to the US/Mexican border for some shopping, bring your bike, lots of water and have some fun at South Texas' best kept secret. Other recommended trails in the same area: Camino Columbia for road biking
