Cross Country Rider Summary: AWESOME. Trails for every level of rider. Lots of trials and more are being added. There are also camping areas through out the Canyon if you make it a multi day ride. Lots of fun riding and awesome views throughout the Canyon so bring your cameras. Trails include: GSL, Lighthouse, Pasco Del Rio, Roho Grande, Sunflower, Juniper Riverside, Juniper Cliffside, Capitol Peek, DownHill Course, Fox Loop and some new ones are being added. Recommended Route: Start at the Lighhouse Trailhead and head down Roho Grande to Sunflower, to Riverside, to Cliffside, to Capitol Peak, to Lighthouse, to GSL and catch the Fox Loop, then continue on GSL and head back on Pasco Del Rio to the Lighthouse Trailhead. Its about a 18 mile and is great riding for Intermediate to Expert. Cut out a few of the trails and you'll have a fun beginner ride.

Racer Summary: Best course in TX. I was amazed by the views. It's a really fast course that has some short fast climbs and quick descents. Lots of fun! I rode the XL loop which was the most technical which I thought any intermediate rider could do. The beginner course is a M loop which I rode the day before the race and I thought just about anyone can ride. Recommended Route: I'm not sure because I followed the race markers. Other recommended trails in the same area: I'm sorry. I'm not from the area.

Racer Summary: Trail was amazing, that is the words i can use to describe Palo Duro. Single track was flowy and fast. Had some great technical areas as well. I would say best trail is the Gibbons, lowery and smith. Or GSL. Light House was well fun. End of saturday we found this mini downhill section and sessioned it with races and rides. Bring water, lots of it, and tubes. Suffered a pinch flat first day out there and hadn't been on the trail for more than 10 minuets but that was my fault. I didn't see the line. Has great climbs. Not monsterous but they will show you how good of shape you re in. Recommended Route: GSL and light house

Cross Country Rider Summary: i enjoyed the single track trail system immensely. free map at Palo Duron Canyon Park entrance. $4.00. combing all routes makes a good 2-3 hour ride . smooth sandy single track with a free creek crossings and a few steep short climbs. lots of swoops and woops.
look out for cacus and rattlers. great trail for riding fast.
good for all levels. the faster the more aerobic. not very technical.
recommend if you're nearby make the detour for a good afternoon of riding.

Cross Country Rider Summary: about the best all around fun trail system i've ever been on. there is something here for everyone. from newbies to experts (although most experts would be bored unless they like to haul ass). you can ride this trail un the summer time from the morning to noon, but ten it gets really hot. or you can ride it from 4:30ish to night fall, (my recomendation) it does get pretty hot but nothing you cant handle, i the windy is blowing it'll cool you off. try this trail if you have never been out here! completely different from any other TX trail. Recommended Route: start at the GSL-maybe take a look at little fox canyon (nothing special)- then the cotton wood flats- then go left at the lighthouse trail (you can rack up some serious speed this way). then take a break at the ligt house trail head and hit up the capitol peak trail... route:go up the steep hill to test youself and go straight back, do not turn right on any of the other cap peak trails. the back side of this trail is well worth it! and you dont want to miss it! continue this trail back to the head (dont hook up with the lighthouse, you've already doen that). on your way back to the trail head there are some pretty stout climbs and a fun drop, dont try to jump it unless you are crazy. if you still have more time, then take the juniper cliffside trail all the way and come back up the juniper riverside-sunflower-rio grande- and the rio de something to get you back to your car. the last few trails are easy, packed and fast for a nice smooth ride for your tired legs back to your car; of the best chance to push everything else to the wall and race your pals to the car.
