Cross Country Rider Summary: What are you boys thinking? This trail is OK for after work-close to home riding, but it actually a fast ride around an almost flat park. Yeah, it's better than nothing if you happen to be in Lubbock, but voted best in West Texas series? Let me guess the vast majority of the voters were from........Lubbock, maybe? Drive to Caprock or Palo Duro Canyon if you're in Lubbock for more than a day as this could be the most over-rated trial on MTBR. Recommended Route: North on I-27. Other recommended trails in the same area: North to the state parks

Weekend Warrior Summary: Directions above are a little off, turn on 24th instead of 26th and you'll find it. A little hard to find the trail beginning. Go to the bottom of the hill on the service road, look left. Great track if you're short on time and wanting to go fast. Not near as many rocks as the other local trails. Starts with a few small climbs and descents shared with a little cacti. About a mile in you'll see a warehouse on the left and that's when you can really turn on the speed and make it more technical then intended. The last half isn't bad in the heat of the day due to the tree cover, is almost all dirt and sand and very muddy when wet. Recommended Route: After coming through the man made embankments along the creek, take the left fork to do it all again. Other recommended trails in the same area: MLK Mae Simmons, east side

Weekend Warrior Summary: This was my second ride in Lubbock, I'm getting a little more used to the mostly singletrack trails and all the cacti. The first part is fun zooming through all the turns, although hot because of a lack of shade. Once you pass the dam and go over the railroad bed there's some pretty tricky downhill and a nice climb lined with cacti (I found myself clipping out much sooner than I normally would for fear of tipping into the prickly stuff). Overall a good trail, typical of the area. I did enjoy this one a little more than the Purina trail. Recommended Route: bottom section through the trees Other recommended trails in the same area: Purina

Cross Country Rider Summary: This trail has had some new work and is more enjoyable. Big riders beware after you cross the bridge, there is a low tree that likes to grab you in the back.
The faster you ride the trail the more technical it gets. Recommended Route: The route in the description is best, the new addition is between the dirt road the the dam. still a fun ride. Other recommended trails in the same area: MLK and Purina. Purina is in good shape too.
