, from Houston for now Summary: Galveston is a cespool for filth and ignorance. A great place to visit durring the day, but just like all other Port towns, the freaks and Idiots come out at night. I lived there for 4 years, and have family from there. There are nice people there, but unless you have a good reason dont bother wasting the fuel. Recommended Route: there are no Mountainbike trails in Galveston. Pelican Island for a bit of a workout. Maybe. Other recommended trails in the same area: Good luck finding anything within 150 miles.

, from Galveston Summary: If you want to have fun in galveston bring your old mountain bike and put a rack on it. Get three or four of your friends and buy as much beer as you can hold. Then have fun weaving drunkinly in and out of the tourist an the seawall. Later when the sun goes down, ride from bar to bar slamin shots and just when you think you can't stand any longer, get on your bike and ride some of the 13 parking garages in downtown. Just watch out for Habourside Dr. It's a buzzkiller. Later that night ride home back down the seawall and burn out those beers while dodging the bikers and punk kids you suprise along the way. Recommended Route: I have to add my two cents here since the previous guy decided to slam my home for no reason. No, it's not a trail. If you live in League City, don't come here looking for single track. Other recommended trails in the same area: Memorial Park is the best trail between Austin and Atlanta.

, from League City Summary: Galveston's a tourist trap with shitty beaches. OK for Yankee snowbirds to spend the winter months. I'd rather ride dirt. Recommended Route: straight down I45to any right turn in Galveston. You'll eventually run into it.
