Home Depot (ffire station) trail
3 reviews

This trail is a gentle downhill that you can get some pretty good speed through if you keep spinning. Lots of single track/man made bridges/ "see-saws" and all around fun. No need to really even spinf if your a newbie or crank down at a fast speed. Stay to the right at the bottom of the trail so you dont go through the mud.

From the 805 go east on H street and turn left at Paseo Ranchero. Park at the YMCA right in front of Chula Vista Fire Station 4 and ride down the little dirt hill to the right of the station by the confined space rescue props (props on right side). Go to the bottom of the first dirt hill and right where it starts going back up, look to the right and you will see the trail head..thats it, take it all the way and it dumps you behind the Home Depot

Summary:
The trail is an urban playground for mountain bikers. I call it, "canyon jumping." It is mostly composed of single track in the canyons and street riding as you connect to the various trails in the canyons located throughout Chula Vista and Bonita. If you connect all of the trails in the area, you can ride "teeter totter" ramps, steep 70 degree climbs, steep short downhills such as, Pedro's shoot, black Beauty, and death hill just to name a few. It is a cool ride that will please all levels if the entire course is ridden.

Summary:
Everything about this trail is pitiful. It is slow, flat, and easy, like my mother-in-law. If any less effort was required, I might as well have been riding in a parking lot. It is an insult to any real biker's skills to waste his or her time on this trail, and I was embarassed to be seen loading up my bike at the end of this sesame street ride. I know almost no one has my level of ability, but even the least skilled of riders should challenge themselves more than this. Go big or go home. If you don't break a bone in your first week of riding, you are a coward.

Other recommended trails in the same area:
The Chilean Andes have some mildly interesting rides.

Summary:
Great single track of medium difficulty. No major elevation change. Its a fun ride that takes at the most 45min to an hour.

Recommended Route:
Take H Street east off the 805 and park at South Western Communiity College. You can't miss the canyons that the trails circumvents. They are all on the right hand side going east on H Street.
