Summary:
This is an awesome singletrack with jumps and steep descents. As you ride down this trail, it will cross Verdugo Motorway about 4 times (be cautious as you cross the fireroad). So you can say that you can divide this trail into 4 sections. The top section is the best because of natural and man-made jumps. It's only about a quarter mile long but when you hit Verdugo, you can turn right, ride up about a third of a mile and ride the first section all over again. The jumps are awesome! You don't have to hit them all since there are paths around them.

The 2nd and 3rd sections are only about 0.2 miles combined and are just made up of short steep sections and some loose dirt. I would rate this section about a 3 in technical difficulty.

The last section requires you to make a short singletrack climb in which you may have to hike towards the top. The other side is a very steep descent down a loose rutted section. This section is not for everyone. I would rate it a 4.5 for technical difficulty because of the steepness. You can actually see this section as you climb up Verdugo Motorway so that should give you an idea whether to try it or not on the way down. Don't go too fast and watch out for traffic coming up Verdugo.

You can always skip sections by taking the fireroad (Verdugo Motorway) instead if you're not too confident with your skill level.

Recommended Route:
Park at the north end of E. Walnut Ave or the Stough Canyon Nature Center parking lot. At the north end of the parking lot is the trailhead for Verdugo Motorway. Go up Verdugo Motorway about 3.4 miles until you reach the antenna tower. Preston Ridge is at the right side of the trail before you get to the tower. You will see a small jump and a log ramp at the beginning so that should tell you you're on the right track.

Other recommended trails in the same area:
El Prieto, Sunset Trail, Middle Sam Merrill, La Tuna

Summary:
When this trail was first introduced to us by one of the guys who spearheaded the making of this trail, I fell in love with it. Its a good dowhill adrenaline switch with options of slowing down, jumps are nice specially they just added a few more. The trail can be dangerous because you can get carried away by your speed but if watch its really a fun route. try it when you climb Stough canyon.
To the makers of these trail you guys are my heroes!

Recommended Route:
la tuna canyon, radio towers. trail head on stough canyon on walnut ave, about 4-5 miles of pure climb, staying on the right side of the trail the whole time.

Summary:
The best of its kind in Burbank/Glendale area. This trail is an intermediate to advance downhill trail with a small steep climb after the second saddle-back plateau. The jumps are fun for those that will like to take them. This trail goes in and out of the fire-road with interesting drops that could be taken at a desired speed. Watch-out for incoming trafic since the trail is shared with hikers. The last section after the second saddle-back is steep, recommended for advance riders unless you want to give it a try or walk the bike down. you can take the fire road five minutes up (from Stough Canyon Motorway intersection with Verdugo Motorway) to link your ride with Latuna Canyon Single trail. You can climb from either the "Nature Center" they love bikers, or from "Latuna Canyon" to the Radio-Tower at the top of the Wildwood Canyon hiking trail, this is where "Preston Ridge" begins. It's fun! See you there!

Recommended Route:
"Nature Center" or Latuna Canyon to the Radio Tower

Other recommended trails in the same area:
Latuna Canyon Single trail

Summary:
Ran into this trail the other day and it was challenging but awesome at the same time. You first hit a 2 footer jump down the hill as it warms you up for the crazy lumberjack jump. But don't worry if you don't want to hit it, you can bypass it easily with an outer trail adjacent to it. The rest of the trail is a mixture of mini jumps with somewhat adrenaline-feel downhill trailing. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED IT for all riders except beginners. Thank you Preston Ridge!
