Ridden Trail: Every few months

Weekend Warrior Summary: Cul-de-sac parking, well lit for after-dark returns. I did this trail after living in Houston for a while, the uphill seemed monstrous but still fun. Great views of the valley and the Santa Monica Mountains. I continued past the summit and ran into some gates across the fire road with overgrown by-passes...watch out for rattle snakes! Overall its a fun fire-road trail with an option to drop down into the adjacent park. Other recommended trails in the same area: O'Melveny park loop.

Weekend Warrior Summary: I saw this trail on another site and figured Intermediate meant a weekend warrior like myself could handle the course. From the very beginning the trail winds uphill and in some spots it is pretty steep (or at least I thought so). There was a good while where I found myself hiking my bike up the trail. Regardless to say, it was slow going, and took me about 45 min to get up to where I thought was the summit. There is a trail that continues all the way up, but it is really steep, so I left it up to the hikers to tackle that one. At this point you can ride back down. or split to the right and follow a ridge down a bike trail that leads you elsewhere. I chose to come back down as my car was parked where the trail starts
Overall, I think I need to tackle something less challenging before trying this one again. Great views of the valley from the top, and the ride down was a blast. Recommended Route: The only one that goes up. Other recommended trails in the same area: N/A
