This can be done as an up and down or as a loop with either Gridley or Pratt/Foothill trails. Climbing it is a bitch! Super Steep. This trail is loaded with hair pin switchbacks and a couple rockgardens. Bring a lot of water because summer is scorching hot! This trail has a coupl short fireroad sections towards the middle and one sweet view from the top.

Summary:
People who say this trail is too hard don't ride enough and people who say its too easy should do it twice in a row. This is easily one of the funnest trails in Santa Barbara and probably the easist too. Quick steep climbs, fast switchbacks its got everything.

Recommended Route:
Same as above

Other recommended trails in the same area:
Santa Cruz(Little Pine), Tequepis, Snyder.

Summary:
I found this trail to be allot of fun but very limited in length. We only do it a few times a year for this reason. You can go up Pratt Trail and back down Gridley but if you are not in shape its a death ride. Plus its a long way back to the truck.
