Cross Country Rider Summary: The first part is a pretty loose, rocky and windy single track. Then you'll traverse to the beginning of the switchbacks. The traverse is fun and a good time to catch your breath and prepare for the switchbacks. At the present time they are fairly rutted up and have quite a few exposed rock sections. There are about 6 switchbacks and they are kind of close together, so it isn't a huge climb or anything. Once you make it to the top of the ridge, there will be a little sign labeled trail. The trail is a big sheet of bumpy rock for about 20 yards (I haven't gone dab free yet, grr). Then, it is nothing but a fun roller coaster with some little technical rock areas. Do that for about 2 miles, until it turns into a double track short, steep, loose climb. Stop. Turn around. Go back for more. Recommended Route: If you don't want to go back the same way, do the following: Go straight when you get to the top of the double track. Hop over the little gate and follow the single track. It will go up another fairly loose climb, keep straight at the top, and then a fun downhill. It ends on Wildwood Ave. Go down Wildwood Ave. and turn right on Big Sky, up and over Big Sky and you are at the parking lot. Other recommended trails in the same area: Lizard Rock, Stagecoach Bluff, Los Robles trail, Woodranch trail system, Sycamore trail system.
