Maple Springs- Silverado Motoray Loop
3 reviews
 3 of 5

Maple Springs Road (5SO4) which is paved for the first 3 miles eventually runs into the Main Divide Truck Trail at about 7.5 miles. Turn left on MDTT and continue until about the 14 mile point where you will catch the Silverado Motorway on the left. When you reach the bottom turn right and head back to the parking lot.

Summary:
Rode this as the uphill portion of the warriorssociety.org's Seek the Peek event. Maple Springs is long, and mentally difficult but not really technical or overly hard. just bring water and food and be prepared to climb for 2-3 hours.

Recommended Route:
Silverado Cyn to Maple Springs Drive - pedal all the way up to main divide, and then climb to Santiago peak.

Summary:
OK climbing up Maple Springs. It gets a little steep for a very short while then you should be able to hammer the middle ring most of the way to the top. Main Divide has some nice rolling sections but watch out for lose gravel in the turns. Silverdao Motorway is a rush! Nice single track with a good 500 foot+ drop if you go just a little too wide. Some good switchbacks and loose shale rock but not too technical. Just when you think your arms can't take any more you are almost at the bottom! Thank goodness. Highly recommend this as a good training route. Bring disk brakes if you've got them.

Recommended Route:
Just like the course says. Up Maple Springs from the parking lot to Main Divide. Follow to the left past the Santiago Peak turnoff to the Silverado Motorway downhill run home.

Other recommended trails in the same area:
For even more climbing fun try doing Black Star Canton instead and then drop down Silverado Motorway and ride the paved road out. A 26 mile loop. Your having an OK day if your under three hours with food/water stops. Really moving at 2 1/2!
