, from Simi Valley, CA Summary: I have been riding all around Thousand Oaks, Augora, Simi Valley etc.. and this trail has to be one of the most fun I have had in a while. I first tried this trail just last night with a buddy of mine. The veiw of TO at the top at night is just great. Very well kept trail, lots of fun uphill and downhill singletrack. I just had a blast going down the trial after I pushed so hard to make it to the top. Recommended Route: I live right off Moorpark road so I would suggest getting off the Moorpark Road ext off the 101 and head towards the Mountains. Park at the dead end and follow the main trail, go right on the split, you will come to another uphll split, go right and follow the trail back down to yet another split. Right before you get to the last split you will cross a small bridge. Go left up the steep singletrack and enjoy the ride. Other recommended trails in the same area: anything you can get your bike on.

, from Thousand Oaks, Ca Summary: My first mtn bike ride way back when (prior to the Mag 20)was up the switchbacks. These trails have something for everyone. I prefer to climb up Rosewood as it is a little bit more of a workout than climbing up the switchbacks. The downhills (both Rosewood and Swithbacks) are great. Nothing real technical however you can really get some speed going. Near the top of Rosewood you can head towards Hidden Valley for some more fun. Short but fun downhills and more singletrack. I usually do an out and back (up Rosewood down Swithbacks then do the opposite)with maybe one or two variations. On the weekends try to get out early as there are a lot of weekend warriors (bikers, hikers, runners, etc.) who tend to get pissed off quite easily. A good friend had a run in with a lame magazine editor of a now defunct equally lame mtb magazine and ended up being the subject of an editorial, thats another story though. The night riding on these trails is awesome as well. have fun. Recommended Route: Up Rosewood from Lynn Rd. Other recommended trails in the same area: Chesboro/Sycamore/Suicide (AKA Jakes trail)

, from la Summary: GO down main trail and you will go up hill just a little at the bottom of a left turning down bear left and begin your climb up some switchbacks. This trail keeps going and I hear you can reach the beach. Not very technical but a fairly strenuous ride by the time you get to the road whose name I forgot about 8 miles after you get on the trail. All in all a good workout. ANyone can ride this trail if you are in somewhat decent shape. Recommended Route: start at end of morepark road.

, from Thousand Oaks Summary: Well maintained trail with fun switchbacks. The trail is fun and challenging, but not too technical. The trail dries pretty fast after rain and doesn't get too dusty during the dry months. The trail gets very crowded during Summer evenings and on weekends. About once per month, usually on a Wednesday night, the Sierra Club has a hike on the trail and there are usually between 50-100 hikers on the trail then. They are a rather militant and inconsiderate group and believe they own the trail and how dare us riders attempt to share it with them. At least they only come out once per month. The trail is great under the stars (bring lights). It's also a lot less crowded then. Recommended Route: For a tough workout ride up Rosewood and down the switchbacks to Moorpark Rd. It's a little easier uphill ride the opposite direction. Other recommended trails in the same area: I've seen mountain lions, bobcats, deer, coyote, and every kind of indigenous reptile and rodent in the area on this trail. It is a great trail to spot wildlife on.

, from Newbury Park, CA Summary: This trail is killer going both up and down. The singletrack is great with smooth turns, rocky technical sections, fast rolling curves and wide open speed traps. I highly recommend it, but do watch out for traffic because if you're going fast, pulling off the trail is not an option. Recommended Route: Ride up and down--fast!
