Eaglerock-top of Reseda Loop
3 reviews
 3.33 of 5

This is a short loop consisting of fireroads that are made of packed gravel and clay. This is my favorite ride after it rains cause it drains SO fast. It dries so fast you can literally ride minutes after the rain stops. It also has some great views, rock formations and a couple of high speed launch ramps, which make it great to do after work while the sun is setting. The trail starts at the end of the paved road. Go up the fireroad-trail about 300 feet and go right when it Ts at the next dirt road (dirt Mulhuland). Go less than 1/4 mile and youll see a gated fireroad on the left. Go around the gate and down the fire road. Keep going on the fireroad for about two miles. Eventually it will start to climb. Youll come to Hub Junction (a small map board with a tiny roof over it). At The Hub make the first right on the fireroad leading up. Now just follow the fireroad. After a mile or two you will pass Eagle Rock. Its a sandstone formation (like Moabs Slickrock Trail only much smaller) with great views of the surrounding canyons and the Pacific. After passing Eagle Rock youll keep following the fireroad down. After less than a mile of downhill the trail will connect to another fireroad. Make a hard left here. Follow this fireroad as it climbs back to The Hub. At The Hub take the fireroad on the left leading down. This is the trail you came up earlier in the ride. When you come to a gate make a right on to dirt Mulhuland. Less than 1/4 mile down dirt Mulhuland on the left is the fireroad you came up from the parking area. Just follow it down to your car.

Summary:
Take the bottom trail to eagle rock....a bit of a climb, but not too bad...and when you get to the rock, it is nice...great view at sundown. only thing is, there are a lot of hikers and dog walkers, especially until you get to the hub. after the hub, they seem to bog down. try to go on a weekday, and either during the mid-day, or early afternoon. but if you can deal with kikers, to get a great view at sundown, then go right as the sun is going down. believe me, you can see ok if you dont have lights, but you will have to leave before the sun goes all the way down.
great trail!

Recommended Route:
from reseda to the hub, to eagle rock...

Other recommended trails in the same area:
to add to the ride a bit, you can go past reseda blvd on the way back, and head up to the missile silo up dirt mullholland. (i think that is the name).
