Cross Country Rider Summary: Rode up Telegraph to Four Corners. The trail was in good condition, except in the beginning there are a few muddy patches (even 3 days after the rain!). Four Corners needs a water foundtain or something, it's pretty isolated. Maybe a big shady tree. About 4-5 watercrossings along the way but nothing deeper than 6inches.
It's a 6 mile slight uphill hike to Four Corners and the return was mostly all downhill (in 1/4 of the time). Recommended Route: For beginners or first timers:
Park at Carbon Canyon Park ($3 weekdays, $5 weekends, $55 annual pass) and when you get in the park, turn left and go to the last parking lot. Telegraph might be one of the most traveled trails so don't wonder off into a bushy single track unless you have a map because they can get quite steep. After 2.5 miles, you will run into a water crossing with a lot of rocks on the trail, this may be a good place to rest for beginners. Around 5.1 miles into the trail, there will be picnic tables and lots of trees to your right, another good place to rest. At the 6.0 marker, you've reach Four Corners which has very little shade. If you're exhuasted by now, turn around here and head back down. Watch your downhill speed (speed limit of 10-15mph) as you can probably go 30mph. Most importantly, be careful when passing hikers and horses; always yield. Other recommended trails in the same area: Fullerton Loop (usually a beginner's first step), Peters Canyon (6 mile roundtrip, but short steep hills)

Reviewed by: Summary: The only way to do this is from ridge to ridge as a full loop. Get to the top of Gilman's peak, ride the full north ridge fire road, then down a single track to the 4 corners rest area. Next take the single track (bohemian) up to the top of San Jaun Hill (it's to the left once you've climbed to the south ridge fire road, then ride the south ridge back to where you've entered. The hills are a challenge, nothing technical, the best part is that nobody goes here! It's usually clear sailing unless you go up the canyon (telegraph). But you don't wanna go there... Recommended Route: I drop in from Rim Crest (Yorba Linda). Yorba Linda Blvd, North on Village Center Drive, West on Fairmont, North on Rim Crest to the end. Other recommended trails in the same area: I've been exploring Palm Springs. Murray peak in particular. It's a hard climb and very technical.

, from Huntington Beach, CA Summary: I don't know why this does not have a better rating, some of the single track trails really rock.. I think this place has a little bit of everything and you can even bring beginners on the canyon trails.. Just a very fun place to ride, some challenging climbs and balls out fun downhill single track... I highly recommend doing Raptor Ridge, you can really fly down this baby... No real technical riding at this place, which some will like and some will want a little more.. Great place to ride in Winter, Fall, and Spring.. Summer sort of sucks unless you ride very early before the heat and smog sets in... Recommended Route: Ride up Northridge to almost the end, drop down single track on right (McDermont?) hammer down to picknic bench (4 corners) then head out on Raptor Ridge, hammer single track to end, head back on Telegraph or South Ridge, return to vehicle Other recommended trails in the same area: Try out Chino Hills State Park, it connects to Carbon Canyon at the end of Raptor and Telegraph...
