Cross Country Rider Summary: Trail was great! Second time ridden and was better than I remembered. Has great flow but must be ready to click to the small chainring at the turn of a corner. Very diverse with switchbacks, small rock gardens, natural berms, water crossings, and lush tree covered cool areas. Other recommended trails in the same area: the Santa Cruz trail

Cross Country Rider Summary: On 1-2-08, I rode this trail for the first time in 10 years. It is still super fun. The only change is at the beginning. When you turn off Buckhorn the trail has been bulldozed as part of a fire break. but the single track remains intact from the bottom of the fist climb...1/4 mile in. Also, don't expect an all downhill run once you leave buckhorn road. You do climb a lot on buckhorn, but the more challenging climbs are on the singletrack. Recommended Route: upper oso - buckhorn - connector - paradise canyon road back to upper oso.

Weekend Warrior Summary: as everyone has summarized the trail sequence, i'll give a current trail update. damn, wish i got out there more. rode today, 3/31/2007. trail is quite dry, as this winter had very little rain. even so, the ticks were out in droves. my riding buddy counted 33+ on him throughout the ride, while I only had a total of about 8. The trick to avoiding the ticks is: short nylon/poly socks and nylon type shorts( i was using TLD Motos). The ticks cannot grab hold, hence they will land on the material and roll off. very important but you still need to be vigilant. AS FOR THE TRAIL, it is in amazing shape. relatively easy uphill and a well distributed downhill. only one downed tree, easy roll around....

Cross Country Rider Summary: I've been to this area quite a few times this summer, but today was the first time I rode this trail. This trail is pretty good and has a good mix of everything that makes MTB riding so damn fun. It starts as some fun straight, slightly DH, flat singletrack. It then turns into rolling singletrack, then uphill switchbacks, then some slightly rocky descents then up again. After all the work climbing the Buckhorn fire road I was expecting all DH, but that was not the case. Then end of the loop with the river crossing was definitely an experience! I'll try to post a picture of it. All and all a fun ride. Recommended Route: 101N, 154N, right on Paradise Canyon Road, go back about 6 miles, head up to Upper Oso campground, In the back right of the campground is the fire road that leads to Camuesa Connector Road (singletrack)! Other recommended trails in the same area: Try same route but instead taking the Cameusa Road continue for another 7-8 miles make your way across Happy Hollow campground and hit San Ysidiro (I think that's what it's called) trail, more fun singletrack!

Cross Country Rider Summary: Was out in LA for business, went up to SB to check out some riding. I really liked this trail, feels very isolated. I saw 1 other mtn biker, 3 motorcycles and no one else. Singletrack is nice w/ some ups and downs. Descent down to river reminded me a little of porcipine rim in Moab. Best part of it all, 30 minutes from SB and you are in the middle of nowhere. The tourism and congestion dont come out here. Other recommended trails in the same area: Romero Canyon
