Weekend Warrior Summary: Did this yesterday...parked on Tamarak (don't think ur suppose to).
Doing this trail counter clockwise killed me (legs not in best shape for bicycling)..some parts I had to bike hike it and even then I was slipping trying to walk it up the hill...clockwise looks easier (slower change in elevation).
Also I was using serfas drifter tires at the time (I know stupid)
Views are so-so (takes a lot to impress me) Recommended Route: Clockwise rotation

, from Hayward Summary: It's a fun trail after the uphill portion which kicks your butt when it's hot out - it's definitely a two water bottle ride since there's no shade on the way up. Also better if you stay on the high ridge trail to the end then come back through the trees - also a couple of creek crossings Watch for gnarly thorns later in the summer - slime in the tires is definitely recommended Recommended Route: Go through the gate and up the high ridge trail - stay on the high ridge trail past Meyers Ridge for a bit longer ride then down and back to the beginning Other recommended trails in the same area: Chabot-Tilden

, from Castro Valley, CA USA Summary: From Barn Visitor Center: head east up High Ridge Loop. It's all up from this point till you reach Meyers Ranch Trail. Go down this Meyers Ranch and back for a quick 1/2 hour ride. Longer if you stay on High Ridge Loop and then loop back down to Ridge View Trail back to the beginning. Great loop for a quick distraction. Super views. Stop and take a look, it's not a race. Camel Backs advised. Pasture, grazing area for cattle. Lotta buffalo chips on the trail and hoof prints. Tires pick up the chips and fling em back to your water bottles, so watch out and by all means, keep your mouth shut and breath through your nose instead. Ride on! Recommended Route: as noted before Other recommended trails in the same area: Mission Peak
