Arguello Park

Lots of little bits of singletrack in a city park. Nothing particularly epic or special, especially with Waterdog so close by but it's a good place for beginners to work on their technical skills and it's practically deserted. The park is built into the side of a hill so you're either climbing or descending the entire time. A few roots, lots of water bars. Some hard pack, mostly loose on hard pack. Some rocks, nothing too gnarly. One short, medium fast fire road that ends at private property. At the top of the park you find The Rocks bike jumps.

Summary:
The trails here are very short but are a good place to bring a cross-country beginner. You'll have a little bit of everything thrown at you in a very short time. Most climbs are gradual, the steep ones are quite short. Most soil surfaces are fairly loose.

Recommended Route:
The place isn't that large so it's impossible to get lost. Just explore and have fun. Session the hell out of it after work or when you're short on time but need a work-out. There is also a small jump area at the top of the park that is reviewed elsewhere on this site. Small but well shaded.

Other recommended trails in the same area:
Water Dog Lake Park, Carlmont Hills, The Shells
