Weekend Warrior Summary: This isn't singletrack, this isn't mountain biking, it is a SCHOOL with stairs! There, now that that's out of the way, this place is a lot of fun. Just make sure you are prepared, and it isn't wet. Lots of stairs and a couple dirt drops/lips. Bring fast rolling tires, no need for the nevegals... Recommended Route: Go to the very top of Ohlone CollEge (not collage, dumba$$'s) on the northern side. When you reach the top, turn south, pass the portable, and there are 2 long sets of stairs. Next to them is dirt (thats where you come in...) After riding down the dirt dh, turn left next to the lake. Pass the back of the cafeteria, and ride down the stairs to the immediete right. After stairs, make another right ( go north) and ride the dirt lip down. Then you will go straight, hit the stairs dh to the ampetheatre, hit more stairs, and hit the lip before the first parking lot. Now, your back to your car. Other recommended trails in the same area: Mission High School, if you like stairs/urban, ect... PLus it's like, a mile away, good warmup...

, from castro valley Summary: I would like to amend my previous post. After getting better aquainted with this trail, I am downgrading it. The cows have got to go! There is cow crap everywhere. EVERYWHERE!!! On the trail, on the singletrack on my bike, on ME for cryin out loud. Getting fenders today. That way I can at least keep the crap of my face. Unless you like to go slow or have cow crap spattered everywhere, stay away. Recommended Route: see below

, from Casto Valley Summary: This is a decent ride. A few decent streatches of single track and a few down hills. I wouldn't call this a "crazy freeride" but more of an XC ride. Lots of climbs, not to technical. The thing that sells this place is the view. You can see everything in the bay. From the top you could probably see SF on a clear day. The caveat is that there are lots of thorns and babyheads on the fire roads. I had a pinch flat and a slow leak flat in only a two hour ride so remember your patch kit. One other thing is that this is grazing land for cattle so watch out for the cow land mines. There are pile of cow crap everywhere, EVERYWHERE. Recommended Route: The trailhead is at Ohlone College. I take 880 south, exit Mowry and head east. South on Mission and take the south entrace to Ohlone College. Other recommended trails in the same area: Hayward plunge

, from Fremont Summary: This is in responce to the crazy free rider...what are you talking about? This is the least technical trail around. Go to skeggs point or Santa Cruz and then call yourself a true dh rider. Just tghought I'de let you know that this trail is just a taste of what is available in the bay area. Also, where is this yellow gate you speak of? They are all Green!
