Cross Country Rider Summary: A fun trail, great all around workout. I broke my hip on that "S Turn" a few months ago and can say that the ground is ...well...HARD.
Needless to say, don't let my freak accident keep you from hitting this trail. Be advised that one the way down hill.. Pass the bridge and continue on the trail. Before you get to some homes and the end of the fire trail, take a left on Green Valley trail. This little singletrack gem is super fun and can be ridden very fast. Other recommended trails in the same area: Oyster Pt...and whatever lung buster there is in the EBay...

Cross Country Rider Summary: Trail in good condition. The main reason I am writing this review is to report that my truck was broken into while parked off the side of S. Gate Road. My window was smashed in, but thankfully my alarm must have scarred the perpetrators away. Nothing was stolen. Just want others to be aware. The park ranger said that it not a "common" occurence, but that they have had others in the past, maybe a year ago or so. The ranger suggested parking at the school that is just down the road (some kind of college prep school). Riding this trail was a nice warm up (not steep, lot of curves)leading up to the summit trail which it intersects with at the bridge at the end of the trail. The summit trail was a semi-steep and bumpy fire road type(fun for the way down). Other recommended trails in the same area: The summit trail as mentioned above.

Weekend Warrior Summary: I have to say, i really enjoy this trail, although it's definitely too short. currently, i'm using it as a weekly after-work ride. the singletrack after the bridge (when heading downhill) is beautiful, with enough quick turns to make sure you're paying attention. i'm a really big fan of the XC stuff i've seen out at Mt Diablo. it's always very scenic, rolling, and fun. Recommended Route: start on the flat pavement at the bottom, well outside the gate, ride up the approx 1300' in 3.1 miles to the trailhead (cant rememember the parking lot name, lower something), and then barrel down. turn left at the bridge. Other recommended trails in the same area: bbq terrace to wall point.
