Cross Country Rider Summary: This is a good trail to be ridden in the summer when conditions are dry. Winter riding gets tough once you hit the redwoods due to mud but that can be fun too. Quite a bit if wildlife, hawks, eagles, foxes , and moose. Never crowded. good 3-4 hour commitment. Recommended Route: Start on Sir Francis Drake Other recommended trails in the same area: China Camp. Five Brooks. Annadale

, from Walnut Creek Summary: Love this ride for some reason! Nothing great about it. But little traffic, very little traffic, makes it nice. Out and back ride. Start at S.F.D., and first half will be climb and second will be decent. Lots of quick, steep climbs, which for some reason aren't depressing. Worth the trip. Recommended Route: Park on Sir Francis and ride south along ridge. Tip the cows on the way. Love them, squeeze them!

, from Sodom in the North Summary: i have not been on the bolinas ridge since we did a sixty mile epic from tam, which incorporated the bolinas ridge trail. i think that might have been two years ago. bolinas ridge is nothing but a long up-and-down fire road ride. there's really nothing spectacular about it. there's a few descents on which you will gain a good enough amount of speed to crash hard, if you really want to. don't mess with the cows, either. i've heard of riders being chased by angry bulls. as i wrote, this ride can be included in a loop starting in mill valley which will include a tenderfoot and a long, grim road ride from the northern end of this trail into fairfax. all in all, bolinas ridge is just an "ok" ride. Recommended Route: park at the shaded, southern end and ride out and back. Other recommended trails in the same area: pine mountain loop

, from Walnut Creek Summary: My wife and I had heard about the great views on this ride, plus it was over 20 miles, so we drove out from the East Bay. The ride to the park is mainly up hill - all fire roads. There is a section where you are riding in the redwoods, but still fire road. There are no technical sections on this ride. The ride is just an out and back, so riding back you are going down hill. This is not technical enough to be considerd mountain biking - I would call it a trail ride. Regarding the "views" - I guess when people talk about the great views, that must have been when the trees where shorter - there are only a couple of places that you have any view at all. I would not recommend doing this ride for the "views". It can be used as a good training ride if you are looking for a long steady climb without any technical riding.
Recommended Route: Started off Sir Francis Drake at the trail head 2 miles before Olema. Other recommended trails in the same area: China Camp offers a better riding experience, but not as much climbing.
